4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open it.
- Insert two 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
The device requires 2 x 1.5V AA batteries (included).

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To power on: Press the Power button.
- To power off: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds. The device will also auto-shutoff after 150 seconds of inactivity.
5.2 Unit Switching
Press the Unit button to cycle through measurement units: meters (m), feet (ft), inches (in), and feet+inches (ft+in).

5.3 Reference Point Selection
The device can measure from the front, rear, or end-piece of the tool. Press the Reference Point button to select the desired reference point. The active reference point is indicated on the display.

5.4 Single Distance Measurement
- Point the laser at the target.
- Press the Measure button once to activate the laser.
- Press the Measure button again to take the measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.
5.5 Continuous Measurement (Tracking)
- Press and hold the Measure button for 2 seconds. The device will enter continuous measurement mode.
- Move the device to track the distance. The maximum and minimum values will be displayed, along with the current distance.
- Press the Measure button again to exit continuous measurement.
5.6 Area Measurement
- Press the Menu button until the area measurement icon appears on the display.
- Measure the first side (e.g., length) by pressing the Measure button.
- Measure the second side (e.g., width) by pressing the Measure button.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
5.7 Volume Measurement
- Press the Menu button until the volume measurement icon appears.
- Measure the length, width, and height sequentially by pressing the Measure button after each dimension.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
5.8 Pythagorean Measurement
The device supports three Pythagorean modes for indirect measurement of heights or distances.
- Press the Menu button to select the desired Pythagorean mode (e.g., 2-point or 3-point).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to take the required measurements (e.g., hypotenuse, base).
- The device will calculate and display the indirect measurement.

5.9 Addition and Subtraction
After taking a measurement, press the +/- button to enter addition or subtraction mode. Take another measurement, and the device will add or subtract it from the previous result.
5.10 Memory Function
The device can store up to 20 sets of measurement data. Press the Memory button to access stored data. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the records.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Clean the laser lens with a soft cloth, similar to cleaning camera lenses.
- Storage: Store the device in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
