3. Setup Guide

1. Install the HDTV Player App: Search for and download the "HDTV Player" application from the Google Play Store on your compatible Android device. This app is essential for the tuner to function.

2. Connect the Antenna: Attach a compatible antenna (not included) to the "ANT IN" port on the GTMEDIA HDTV Mate tuner stick. Ensure the connection is secure.
3. Connect to Your Android Device:
   • For devices with a USB-C port, use the provided USB-C to USB-A adapter to connect the tuner stick to your device.
   • For devices with a standard USB-A port, plug the tuner stick directly into the port.

   The tuner stick draws power from your connected device. Ensure your device has sufficient battery or is connected to a power source for extended use.

4. Launch the HDTV Player App: Once connected, open the "HDTV Player" app on your Android device. The app should detect the tuner stick.
5. Scan for Channels: Within the app, navigate to the channel scan option. Initiate a scan to find available digital TV channels in your area. This process may take several minutes. Ensure your antenna is positioned for optimal signal reception.

4. Operation

4.1 Watching Live TV

• After completing the channel scan, the app will display a list of available channels.
• Tap on a channel from the list to begin watching.
• Use the on-screen controls within the HDTV Player app to change channels, adjust volume, or access the Electronic Program Guide (EPG).

4.2 DVR Recording

• To record programs, ensure a Micro SD card is inserted into the tuner stick's slot.

• Recorded content will be saved to the Micro SD card for later viewing.

• No Signal/Poor Reception:
  • Ensure the antenna is securely connected to the tuner stick.
  • Adjust the antenna's position for better signal reception. Try moving it to a window or higher location.
  • Perform a new channel scan within the HDTV Player app after repositioning the antenna.
  • Verify that you are within range of ATSC 3.0/1.0 broadcast towers or have a clear QAM-B cable signal.
• Device Not Detected:
  • Ensure your Android device is running Android 9.0 or above.
  • Check that the tuner stick is firmly connected to your device's USB port (using the correct adapter if necessary).
  • Restart the HDTV Player app or your Android device.
  • Confirm that the "HDTV Player" app is installed and updated.
• No Audio/Video Issues:
  • Check the volume settings on your Android device and within the HDTV Player app.
  • Ensure the signal strength is adequate; poor signal can lead to intermittent audio/video.
• Recording Problems:
  • Verify that a Micro SD card is properly inserted and has sufficient free space.
  • Check the Micro SD card for proper formatting (FAT32 or exFAT is usually recommended).
