1. Important Safety Information
Please read and understand all instructions before installing, operating, or maintaining this product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, serious injury, or death.
- Electrical Safety: This pump operates on dual voltage (115V/230V). Ensure the correct voltage is selected and wired by a qualified electrician. Do not switch voltage when the pump is plugged in. The power cord is not included and must be installed according to local electrical codes.
- Water Priming: Under no circumstances should the pump be switched on before being filled with water. Operating the pump dry can cause severe damage to the mechanical seals and impeller. Always verify the water level within the pump before initiating operation. Ensure the pump's drain plug is inserted, and water is added to the pump housing until it is full.
- Overheat Protection: The motor is thermally protected and designed to sustain a maximum water temperature of 104°F (40°C). Do not exceed this temperature.
- Installation: Install the pump on a solid, level surface. Ensure proper ventilation around the pump.
- Maintenance: Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the pump's performance and safety. This pump does not include a power cord and requires electrical wiring.
3.1 Electrical Connection (Dual Voltage)
The LANCHEZ pool pump supports both 115V and 230V operation. The voltage selection is typically made via a switch or wiring configuration within the junction box (Item 6 in Figure 2.2). Consult a qualified electrician to ensure correct wiring for your specific voltage supply. Do not attempt to switch voltage while the pump is connected to power.
3.2 Plumbing Connections
The pump offers versatile inlet/outlet options for 1.5" and 2" pipes. Use the provided adapters and sealing tape for a secure, leak-free connection.

Figure 3.1: Outlet/Inlet Connection Methods.
- Method 1: 1.5" or 2" Schedule 40 PVC Pipe Glue Connection: Use appropriate PVC cement for a permanent connection.
- Method 2: 1.5" or 2" Schedule 40 PVC Pipe Glue Connection + PVC Hose with Clamp: For flexible hose connections, ensure clamps are tightened securely.
3.3 Priming the Pump
Before initial startup or after the pump has been drained, it is critical to prime the pump. This involves filling the pump housing with water to ensure proper operation and prevent damage.
- Ensure the pump's drain plug (Item 4 in Figure 2.2) is securely inserted.
- Remove the transparent lid (above the filter basket).
- Fill the filter basket area completely with water until it overflows into the inlet pipe.
- Replace the transparent lid, ensuring it is tightly sealed.
- Once filled, the pump is ready for operation.

4. Operating Instructions
After proper installation and priming, the pump is ready for operation.
4.1 Starting the Pump
Ensure the pump is primed and all connections are secure. Turn on the electrical power supply to the pump. The pump should start circulating water immediately.

4.2 Monitoring Performance
Observe the water flow through the transparent lid. A strong, consistent flow indicates proper operation. If the flow is weak or inconsistent, check for air leaks, blockages, or insufficient priming.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your pool pump.
5.1 Cleaning the Filter Basket
The removable debris basket collects leaves, hair, and other large particles. It should be inspected and cleaned regularly, depending on the amount of debris in your pool.
- Turn off the pump and disconnect it from the power supply.
- Unscrew and remove the transparent lid.
- Lift out the filter basket.
- Empty any collected debris and rinse the basket thoroughly with water.
- Inspect the O-ring on the lid for any damage or wear. Clean and lubricate if necessary.
- Place the clean basket back into the pump housing.
- Securely replace the transparent lid, ensuring a tight seal.
- Re-prime the pump if necessary before restarting.

5.2 Winterization
If you live in an area with freezing temperatures, proper winterization of your pool pump is essential to prevent damage.
- Drain all water from the pump by removing the drain plug.
- Store the pump in a dry, frost-free location.
- Consider using a pool winterizing kit for your entire pool system.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your pool pump.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start | No power; Incorrect wiring; Motor overload; Faulty switch | Check power supply and circuit breaker. Verify wiring with an electrician. Allow motor to cool if overheated. Inspect switch. |
| Pump runs but no water flow / Low flow | Pump not primed; Air leak in suction line; Clogged filter basket; Clogged impeller; Low water level in pool | Re-prime the pump. Check all connections for air leaks. Clean filter basket. Inspect impeller for debris. Ensure adequate pool water level. |
| Pump is noisy | Air leak in suction line; Cavitation (lack of water); Worn bearings; Debris in impeller | Check for air leaks. Ensure pump is fully primed. Contact customer support if bearings are suspected. Clean impeller. |
| Water leaking from pump | Loose connections; Damaged O-rings/seals; Cracked housing | Tighten all plumbing connections. Inspect and replace O-rings/seals if damaged. Contact customer support for housing issues. |
