Setup and Installation

Pre-Installation Checklist:

• Ensure the installation site is level, well-drained, and protected from direct weather exposure.

Installation Steps:

1. Positioning the Pump: Place the pump on a solid, level surface as close to the pool as possible to minimize friction loss in plumbing.
2. Plumbing Connections:
   • Attach the appropriate 1.5" or 2" NPT adapters to the pump's inlet and outlet ports. Use thread sealant tape for a watertight seal.
   • Connect the plumbing from your pool's skimmer/main drain to the pump's inlet (suction side) and the plumbing to your filter/return jets to the pump's outlet (discharge side).
   • Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free.

3. Electrical Connection:

   This pump does not include a power cord. A qualified electrician should perform all electrical wiring. Connect the pump to a dedicated, properly grounded 230V, 60Hz circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection.

4. Priming the Pump:

   Before initial startup, the pump must be filled with water. Remove the transparent lid of the strainer basket and fill the basket completely with water. Replace the lid securely.

   Caution: Under no circumstances should the pump be switched on before being filled with water, as this could potentially cause harm to the mechanical seals and impeller. It is imperative to verify the water level within the pump before initiating operation.

Operating Instructions

Starting the Pump:

1. Ensure all valves are open to allow water flow to and from the pump.
2. Confirm the pump is primed (strainer basket full of water).
3. Turn on the power to the pump. The pump should begin to circulate water.

Dual Speed Operation:

The LANCHEZ pool pump features a dual-speed motor, allowing you to choose between high and low speeds for different operational needs.

• High Speed (3,450 RPM): Ideal for rapid water circulation, backwashing, vacuuming, and initial pool cleaning. Provides maximum flow rate (6600 GPH).
• Low Speed (1,720 RPM): Suitable for daily filtration, maintaining water clarity, and energy saving. Operates with reduced noise and lower power consumption.

Use the speed change switch located on the pump to toggle between high and low speeds.

Maintenance

Strainer Basket Cleaning:

Regular cleaning of the strainer basket is crucial for optimal pump performance and to prevent damage. The transparent lid allows for easy visual inspection.

1. Turn off the pump and disconnect power.
2. Close any necessary valves to prevent water flow from the pool.
3. Unscrew the transparent lid counter-clockwise.
4. Remove the strainer basket and empty any collected debris (leaves, hair, grit, etc.).
5. Rinse the basket thoroughly with water.
6. Inspect the O-ring on the lid for cracks or wear. Replace if necessary.
7. Place the clean basket back into the pump, ensuring it is seated correctly.
8. Replace the transparent lid and tighten it clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.
9. Re-open valves and restore power.

Winterization:
