Maintenance
1. Solar Panel Care
Regularly inspect and clean the surface of the solar panel to ensure maximum sunlight absorption. Dust, dirt, or debris can reduce charging efficiency. Use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe the panel.
2. Battery Management
The camera's built-in 10400 mAh lithium-ion battery is designed for long-term use with solar charging. If the camera is installed in an area with limited sunlight, occasional manual charging via USB may be necessary to maintain optimal battery levels. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures outside the operating range.
3. Weather Protection
The camera has an IP65 waterproof rating, protecting it from dust and water jets. While designed for outdoor use, avoid submerging the camera in water. Ensure all ports and covers are securely closed to maintain water resistance.
4. Storage
A memory card (not included) is required for local video storage. Ensure a compatible microSD card is inserted for recording. Cloud storage options may also be available through the iCam365 app.
Troubleshooting
- Camera Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the camera to a USB power source for several hours. Verify the solar panel is clean and receiving direct sunlight.
- No Cellular Connection: Confirm that the installation location has adequate 4G LTE signal strength for Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T. Check the iCam365 app to ensure your data plan is active and has sufficient data. The camera does not support Wi-Fi.
- Battery Drains Quickly: Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum direct sunlight. Excessive live viewing or frequent motion detections in high-traffic areas can increase power consumption.
- Motion Detection Not Working or Too Sensitive: Adjust the PIR detection sensitivity settings within the iCam365 app. Ensure the camera's field of view is clear of obstructions that might cause false alerts. Note that very small animals might not always trigger detection.
- Poor Image/Video Quality: Ensure the camera lens is clean. Check the app settings to confirm 2K HD resolution is selected. For night vision, ensure there are no obstructions blocking the infrared lights.
- App Connectivity Issues: Ensure your smartphone has a stable internet connection. Restart the iCam365 app or your phone if issues persist.
