The safety light is designed for universal compatibility with all helmet types. Installation is straightforward using the included adhesive strips, requiring no special tools for quick setup.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the Moman HLS1 on your helmet:

  1. Prepare the Helmet Surface: Ensure the rear surface of your helmet where the light will be attached is clean, dry, and free of dust or grease.
  2. Remove Protective Film: Carefully peel off the protective film from the adhesive sticker on the back of the helmet light. Note: The adhesive is very strong. For the first installation, a thin tool (like a knife edge) may be needed to help lift the sticker's edge.
  3. Position the Light: Align the helmet light to the desired position on the rear of your helmet. Ensure it is centered and level for optimal visibility.
  4. Apply Pressure: Once positioned, firmly press the helmet light onto the helmet surface for at least 30 seconds to ensure a strong bond.

Figure 9: Smart operational logic, including automatic brake light activation.

  • Brake Mode: When significant deceleration is detected, the system automatically switches from Driving Mode (flashing) to Brake Mode (solid red light) to alert following vehicles.
  • Driving Mode: When vibration is detected within 20 minutes of being in Standby Mode, the system automatically switches to Driving Mode. If no vibration is detected, it shuts down automatically.
  • Standby Mode: If no motion is detected for 3 minutes while in Driving Mode, the system switches back to Standby Mode to conserve battery.
  • Auto-Brightness: The light automatically adjusts its brightness based on ambient light conditions, dimming in bright environments and increasing intensity in low-light conditions.

Charging the Device:

The Moman HLS1 supports dual charging methods:

  • Solar Charging: Place the helmet light in direct sunlight. The integrated solar panel will automatically charge the internal battery.
  • USB-C Charging: For faster charging or when sunlight is unavailable, connect a USB-C cable (not included) to the USB-C port on the device and a compatible USB power source. A full charge typically takes about 5 hours and provides up to 24 hours of operation.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the solar panel or casing. Ensure the solar panel is clean for efficient charging.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the device to at least 50% every few months.
  • Storage: Store the helmet light in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use for prolonged periods.
