Setup and Installation
This vessel sink is designed for above-counter installation. Professional installation is recommended. Ensure all local plumbing codes are followed.
Required Tools (Not Included):
- Adjustable Wrench
- Plumber's Putty or Silicone Sealant
- Measuring Tape
- Drill (if cutting new holes)
- Safety Glasses
- Gloves
Installation Steps:
- Prepare Countertop: Ensure your countertop is clean, dry, and level. Mark the desired location for the sink and faucet. If new holes are required, carefully drill them according to the sink and faucet base dimensions.
- Install Faucet: Insert the black faucet into the designated hole on the countertop. Secure it from underneath using the provided screw packet and mounting hardware. Connect the cold and hot water lines to the faucet and hand-tighten, then use a wrench for a final quarter-turn.
- Install Pop-up Drain: Apply a bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the underside of the sink's drain opening. Insert the top part of the pop-up drain into the sink. From underneath, attach the rubber washer, friction washer, and lock nut, then tighten securely.
- Position Sink: Carefully place the glass vessel sink over the drain assembly on the countertop. Ensure it is centered and level. Apply a thin bead of silicone sealant around the base of the sink where it meets the countertop to secure it and prevent water leakage. Allow sealant to cure as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Connect Water Lines: Connect the cold and hot water lines from the faucet to your home's water supply valves. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Test for Leaks: Once all connections are secure and sealant has cured, slowly turn on the water supply. Check all connections for any signs of leakage. Run water into the sink and check the drain connections.
Operating Instructions
Using your SOLIDEE Artistic Glass Vessel Sink is straightforward:
- Water Flow: Use the faucet handle to control water temperature and flow.
- Pop-up Drain: The pop-up drain allows you to easily open and close the drain for filling or emptying the sink. Press down to close, press again to open.
- Daily Use: The tempered glass is durable for daily use. Avoid dropping heavy objects into the sink to prevent damage.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care will ensure the longevity and beauty of your glass vessel sink and faucet:
- Cleaning the Sink: Clean the tempered glass sink regularly with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner or soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or scouring powders, as these can scratch the glass or damage the artistic finish.
- Cleaning the Faucet: Wipe the black faucet with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn spots, use a mild soap solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners, polishes, or waxes on the faucet finish, as this can remove the protective coating.
- Preventing Water Spots: To minimize water spots, wipe the sink and faucet dry after each use.
- Avoid Impact: While tempered glass is strong, it is not unbreakable. Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects into the sink.
- Temperature: Avoid extreme temperature changes, such as pouring boiling water directly into a cold sink, which could stress the glass.
Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Water Leakage at Connections | Loose connections or improper sealant application. | Ensure all nuts are tightened securely. Reapply plumber's putty or silicone sealant if necessary. |
| Slow Drainage | Drain clogged with debris (hair, soap scum). | Remove the pop-up drain stopper and clear any obstructions. Clean the drain regularly. |
| Faucet Drips | Internal cartridge issue or loose connection. | Check water line connections. If dripping persists, the faucet cartridge may need replacement (consult a plumber). |
| Water Spots on Sink | Hard water residue. | Wipe the sink dry after each use. Use a 50/50 vinegar and water solution for stubborn spots, then rinse thoroughly. |
