4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Dash Cam Mounting

Mount the D90-4CH Dash Cam securely on your vehicle's dashboard or windshield, ensuring it does not obstruct your view. Use the provided adhesive mount or suction cup mount as appropriate. Position the front camera to capture the road ahead clearly, and adjust the cabin camera for optimal interior view.

4.2 Hardwire Kit Installation for 24-Hour Parking Mode

The hardwire kit connects your dash cam directly to your vehicle's fuse box, providing continuous power for parking mode and protecting against battery drain.

1. Identify Fuse Box: Locate your vehicle's fuse box. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for its exact location (typically under the dashboard, in the engine bay, or in the trunk).
2. Connect Wires: The hardwire kit has three wires:
   • Red Wire (ACC): Connect to a fuse that is only powered when the ignition is on (e.g., radio, cigarette lighter). Use one of the provided fuse tap cables.
   • Yellow Wire (12V Normal Power): Connect to a fuse that has constant power, even when the ignition is off (e.g., hazard lights, interior lights). Use a fuse tap cable.
   • Black Wire (Ground): Connect to a metal bolt or screw on the vehicle's chassis that provides a good ground connection.
3. Insert Fuse Taps: Select the appropriate fuse tap cable for your vehicle's fuse type. Insert the original fuse into the lower slot of the fuse tap, and a new fuse (of the same rating as the original) into the upper slot for the dash cam circuit.
4. Route Cables: Carefully route the hardwire kit cables along the vehicle's trim and headliner using the provided cable hiding clips and installation crowbar to ensure a neat and secure installation.
5. Connect to Dash Cam: Plug the Mini USB connector from the hardwire kit into the corresponding port on your D90-4CH Dash Cam.
6. Test Connection: Start your vehicle to ensure the dash cam powers on. Turn off the vehicle and remove the key to verify that the parking mode activates (the dash cam should remain powered or enter a low-power parking mode).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

Once powered, the D90-4CH Dash Cam will automatically begin recording. The display will show the live view from the cameras. You can switch between camera views (front, cabin, rear, split-screen) using the buttons on the device.

5.2 Parking Monitor Mode

With the hardwire kit correctly installed, the dash cam will automatically switch to parking monitor mode when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. In this mode, the dash cam will detect impacts or motion (if enabled) and record short video clips to capture events while parked.

5.3 Accessing Recordings

• Parking Mode Not Working:
  • Confirm the yellow wire of the hardwire kit is connected to a constant power fuse.

• Poor Video Quality:
  • Clean the camera lenses.
  • Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses.
