1. Important Safety Information

  • Power Source: Operate the unit only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label.

  • Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.

3. Setup

3.1 Powering the Unit

Your boombox can be powered by either AC power or batteries.

AC Power Operation:

  1. Ensure the unit is turned off.
  2. Insert the small end of the supplied AC power adapter cord into the AC power input jack on the back of the boombox.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet (AC 120V ~ 60Hz).
  4. The unit is now ready for use with AC power.

Battery Operation:

For portable use, the boombox requires 6 x "C" size batteries (not included).

  1. Ensure the unit is turned off and disconnected from AC power.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom or back of the unit.
  3. Insert 6 "C" size batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  5. The unit is now ready for use with battery power. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 General Operation

  1. Press the Power button to turn the unit on.
  2. Use the Function Selector to choose your desired mode: CD, Radio (AM/FM), or AUX.
  3. Adjust the Volume Control to a comfortable listening level.

4.2 CD Player Operation

  1. Set the Function Selector to "CD".
  2. Open the CD compartment door by gently lifting it.
  3. Place a CD (or CD-R/CD-RW) with the label side facing up onto the center spindle.
  4. Close the CD compartment door firmly until it clicks. The display will show "---" then the total number of tracks.
  5. Press the Play/Pause button (/‖) to start playback.
  6. To pause, press Play/Pause again. Press again to resume.
  7. To skip to the next track, press the Skip Forward button (►►|).
  8. To go back to the beginning of the current track, press the Skip Backward button (|◄◄). Press twice to go to the previous track.
  9. To stop playback, press the Stop button (■).

Program Playback:

You can program up to 20 tracks to play in a specific order.

  1. In Stop mode, press the Program button. "P01" will flash on the display.
  2. Use the Skip Forward/Backward buttons to select the desired first track.
  3. Press Program again to confirm. "P02" will flash.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add more tracks to the program list.
  5. After programming all desired tracks, press the Play/Pause button to start programmed playback.
  6. To clear the program, press the Stop button twice.

4.3 Cassette Player/Recorder Operation

Playing a Cassette:

  1. Set the Function Selector to "TAPE".
  2. Press the Stop/Eject button (■/▲) to open the cassette compartment.
  3. Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards and the side to be played facing you.
  4. Close the cassette compartment door.
  5. Press the Play button (►) to start playback.
  6. Use the Fast Forward (►►) or Rewind (◄◄) buttons to quickly move through the tape. Press Play to resume, or Stop/Eject to stop.
  7. To stop playback, press the Stop/Eject button (■/▲).

Recording to Cassette:

You can record from the CD player or the AM/FM radio onto a cassette tape.

  1. Insert a blank cassette tape into the cassette compartment. Ensure the tape has not had its erase protection tab removed.
  2. Select the desired source (CD or Radio) using the Function Selector.
  3. For CD Recording: Start playing the CD at the desired point.
  4. For Radio Recording: Tune to the desired radio station.
  5. Press the Record button (●) on the cassette deck. The Play button (►) will also engage automatically. Recording will begin.
  6. To stop recording, press the Stop/Eject button (■/▲).

4.4 AM/FM Radio Operation

  1. Set the Function Selector to "RADIO".
  2. Press the AM/FM button to select either AM or FM band.
  3. Extend the Telescopic Antenna for optimal FM reception. For AM reception, rotate the unit for best signal.
  4. Use the Tuning Up/Down buttons to manually tune to a desired station.
  5. To auto-scan for stations, press and hold the Tuning Up/Down buttons for a few seconds. The unit will stop at the next strong station.

4.5 AUX Input Operation

The AUX input allows you to connect external audio devices to play through the boombox speakers.

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the headphone jack or line-out jack of your external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone).
  2. Connect the other end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX Input Jack on the boombox.
  3. Set the Function Selector to "AUX".
  4. Start playback on your external audio device.
  5. Adjust the volume on both your external device and the boombox for optimal sound.

4.6 Headphone Use

For private listening, you can connect headphones to the unit.

  1. Plug a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone jack into the Headphone Jack on the boombox.
  2. The sound from the speakers will automatically mute.
  3. Adjust the volume to a comfortable level before placing headphones on your ears.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Disconnect the unit from the power source before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

5.2 CD Player Care

  • Keep the CD compartment clean and free of dust.
  • Handle CDs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches.
  • If a CD is dirty, wipe it gently with a soft, lint-free cloth from the center outwards.

5.3 Cassette Deck Care

  • Periodically clean the tape heads, pinch roller, and capstan using a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Demagnetize the tape heads regularly to maintain sound quality.
