Setup
Initial Setup and Charging:
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the keyboard to a USB power source using the provided USB-C cable. The battery display will indicate charging status.
Connecting Your Keyboard:
The M65 keyboard supports three connection modes: USB-C wired, 2.4G wireless, and Bluetooth 5.1.

- USB-C Wired Mode:
Connect the USB-C cable from the keyboard to your computer's USB port. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode. This mode also charges the keyboard.
- 2.4G Wireless Mode:
Locate the 2.4G USB receiver, typically found magnetically attached to the bottom of the keyboard. Plug the receiver into an available USB port on your computer. On the keyboard, short press the dedicated 2.4G button (often indicated by a wireless icon) to select this mode. Long press the button to connect. The keyboard should connect automatically.
- Bluetooth 5.1 Mode (Up to 3 Devices):
The M65 supports connecting to up to three Bluetooth devices. Short press one of the Bluetooth buttons (BT1, BT2, BT3) to select a channel. Long press the selected Bluetooth button to enter pairing mode (the indicator light will flash). On your device (computer, tablet, etc.), search for Bluetooth devices and select "RK ROYAL KLUDGE M65" to pair. Once paired, the indicator light will become solid. Repeat for other Bluetooth channels if connecting multiple devices.
Operating Instructions
Volume Knob Control:
The aluminum volume knob provides quick and intuitive audio control.
- Clockwise Rotation: Increases volume.
- Counter-clockwise Rotation: Decreases volume.
- Press Down: Mutes/Unmutes audio.

Quick Function Keys:
Dedicated media keys allow for easy control of playback.
- Pause: Stops current playback.
- Last Song: Skips to the previous track.
- Play/Stop: Toggles playback.
- Next Song: Skips to the next track.

Backlight Control:
The keyboard features dynamic RGB backlighting. Specific key combinations (often involving the Fn key) are used to change lighting modes, brightness, and speed. Refer to the keyboard's keycap legends or the official software for detailed backlight customization.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Keyboard:
To maintain the keyboard's appearance and functionality, regularly clean it. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the keycaps and chassis. For deeper cleaning, you can use a can of compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Switch and Keycap Replacement:
The M65 features hot-swappable switches, allowing you to easily change switches without soldering. Use the included 2-in-1 keycap and switch puller for this process.

- Removing Keycaps:
Gently place the keycap puller over the keycap you wish to remove and pull straight up. Do not twist or pull at an angle to avoid damaging the keycap or switch.
- Removing Switches:
After removing the keycap, use the switch puller to grasp the top and bottom clips of the switch. Apply gentle pressure and pull the switch straight up from the PCB. Ensure the switch is fully disengaged before pulling.
- Installing Switches:
Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Ensure the switch is seated firmly and evenly. Do not force the switch, as this can bend the pins.
- Installing Keycaps:
Align the keycap with the stem of the switch and press down firmly until it is securely attached.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard Not Responding:
- Ensure the keyboard is charged.
- Check the connection mode (wired, 2.4G, Bluetooth) and ensure it matches your device's connection.
- For wired mode, try a different USB port or cable.
- For 2.4G, ensure the dongle is securely plugged in and try re-pairing.
- For Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device, unpair and re-pair the keyboard.
- Keys Not Registering or Double Typing:
- Remove the keycap and switch for the affected key. Check for any debris or bent pins. Reinstall the switch firmly.
- If the issue persists, try replacing the switch with one of the spare switches provided.
- Backlight Not Working or Incorrect:
- Ensure the backlight is enabled via key combinations.
- Check the keyboard's battery level; low battery can affect backlight performance.
- If using the software, ensure the correct lighting profile is selected.
- Bluetooth Disconnection Issues:
- Ensure the keyboard is within the effective range of your Bluetooth device.
- Minimize interference from other wireless devices.
- Update Bluetooth drivers on your computer.
