Setup and Assembly
Assembly typically requires two people for easier handling of larger components.
Step 1: Assemble the Cross Base
- Unpack all components of the cross base.
- Connect the cross base sections using the provided screws and tools. Ensure all connections are secure.

Step 2: Weight the Base
The stability of your offset umbrella relies heavily on a properly weighted base. Sand is not included and must be purchased separately.
- Locate the two sandbags provided.
- Fill each sandbag with approximately 80 pounds of sand. Each sandbag can hold a maximum of 100 pounds. A total of 160 pounds of sand is recommended for optimal stability.
- Place the filled sandbags onto the assembled cross base.
- Cover the sandbags and cross base with the Oxford fabric base cover for a neat appearance and protection.

Step 3: Attach the Main Pole and Cantilever Arm
- Carefully insert the main pole assembly into the center of the weighted cross base.
- Secure the main pole to the base using the appropriate hardware.
- Attach the cantilever arm to the main pole, ensuring all connection points are firm and stable.
Step 4: Install the Umbrella Canopy
- Carefully open the umbrella canopy and attach it to the cantilever arm mechanism.
- Ensure the canopy is properly seated and secured to the ribs and central hub.

Operating Instructions
Opening the Umbrella
To open the umbrella canopy:
- Ensure the area around the umbrella is clear.
- Locate the crank handle on the main pole.
- Turn the crank handle clockwise until the canopy is fully extended and taut. Do not over-crank.
Closing the Umbrella
To close the umbrella canopy:
- Locate the crank handle.
- Turn the crank handle counter-clockwise until the canopy is fully retracted.
- Once closed, use the integrated ties to secure the canopy fabric around the frame. This prevents the canopy from unfurling unexpectedly and protects it from wind damage.
Adjusting the Tilt
The umbrella features an infinite tilt adjustment mechanism, allowing you to position the canopy for optimal shade throughout the day.
- Locate the tilt adjustment handle or lever on the cantilever arm.
- Engage the mechanism to unlock the tilt.
- Adjust the canopy to your desired angle, up to 45 degrees.
- Release or re-engage the mechanism to lock the tilt in place.

Maintenance
Canopy Care
- Cleaning: To clean the canopy, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before closing or storing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Stains: For stubborn stains, a specialized outdoor fabric cleaner may be used, following the product's instructions.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, or during off-season, it is recommended to remove the canopy and store it in a dry, protected area to prolong its lifespan.
Frame Care
- Cleaning: Wipe down the frame with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
- Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they are tight. Tighten any loose hardware.
- Rust Prevention: The frame features a double powder-coated steel alloy surface for rust resistance. However, regular cleaning and ensuring the frame is dry can further prevent corrosion, especially in humid environments.
General Care
- Always close the umbrella and secure it with the strap when not in use or during adverse weather conditions (strong winds, heavy rain).
- Ensure the base remains adequately weighted. Periodically check the sandbags for integrity and fill level.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Umbrella is unstable or tips over easily. | Insufficient weight in the base. | Ensure both sandbags are filled with at least 80 pounds of sand each, totaling 160 pounds. Verify sandbags are properly placed and covered. |
| Difficulty opening or closing the umbrella with the crank. | Mechanism is stiff or obstructed. | Check for any obstructions in the crank mechanism or canopy fabric. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if necessary. Do not force the crank. |
| Canopy does not stay tilted in position. | Tilt lock mechanism is not engaged or is faulty. | Ensure the tilt lock handle/lever is fully engaged after adjusting the angle. If the issue persists, inspect the mechanism for damage. |
| Canopy fabric appears faded or damaged prematurely. | Prolonged exposure to harsh elements or improper storage. | While the fabric is fade-resistant, extreme conditions can accelerate wear. Always close and secure the umbrella when not in use. Consider using an umbrella cover for long-term storage. |
