4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your VEVOR Gravity Water Filter System:

4.1. Prepare Filter Cartridges

  1. Unpack the two activated carbon filter cartridges.
  2. Rinse the filters under cold running water for several minutes to remove any loose carbon dust.
  3. Priming the filters: Place the yellow sealing gasket onto the threaded stem of a filter. Press the filter stem against a faucet to allow water to flow through the filter until water drips from the other end. Repeat for the second filter. This ensures proper water flow and removes air from the filter media.

4.2. Assemble the Faucet

  1. Locate the faucet hole on the lower chamber.
  2. Insert one faucet gasket onto the threaded stem of the faucet.
  3. Insert the faucet stem through the hole from the outside of the lower chamber.
  4. From the inside of the lower chamber, place the second faucet gasket and then a milky white sealing ring onto the faucet stem.
  5. Secure the faucet with the provided nut, tightening it with the open-end wrench until snug. Do not overtighten.

4.3. Install Filter Cartridges

  1. Place the upper chamber onto a stable surface.
  2. Insert the threaded stems of the prepared filter cartridges into the two holes at the bottom of the upper chamber.
  3. From inside the upper chamber, secure each filter with a milky white sealing ring and then a wing nut (if provided, otherwise use the standard nut and screwdriver). Tighten until snug, ensuring a watertight seal. Do not overtighten.

4.4. Final Assembly

  1. Place the rubber foot pad on the bottom of the lower chamber for stability.
  2. Carefully place the upper chamber (with filters installed) onto the lower chamber.
  3. Place the lid with the handle on top of the upper chamber.

5. Operation

5.1. Initial Use (Flushing)

  1. After assembly, fill the upper chamber with clean water.
  2. Allow the water to filter through to the lower chamber. The first batch of filtered water may contain residual carbon dust and should be discarded.
  3. Repeat this process 1-2 times, discarding the filtered water, until the water runs clear and tastes clean. This flushes the filters and prepares the system for regular use.

5.2. Daily Use

  1. Pour water into the upper chamber. The water will slowly pass through the filter cartridges by gravity into the lower chamber.
  2. Once the water has filtered, open the faucet on the lower chamber to dispense clean drinking water.
  3. Refill the upper chamber as needed.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Slow filtration rate
  • Filters are clogged or nearing end of life.
  • Filters are not properly primed (air trapped).
  • Water source is heavily contaminated with sediment.
  • Clean or replace filter cartridges.
  • Re-prime filters by running water through them.
  • Use a pre-filter for very turbid water if available.
Water tastes or smells unusual
  • Filters need flushing.
  • Filters are exhausted and need replacement.
  • New system "plastic" taste (initial use).
  • Perform initial flushing procedure (Section 5.1).
  • Replace filter cartridges.
  • Continue flushing until taste improves.
Leaks from faucet or between chambers
  • Faucet or filter nuts are loose.
  • Gaskets are improperly seated or damaged.
  • Chambers are not properly aligned.
  • Tighten all nuts and connections. Do not overtighten.
  • Check gaskets for proper placement and condition. Replace if damaged.
  • Ensure upper chamber sits squarely on the lower chamber.
