4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

4.2 Charging the Battery

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the On-Off/Weather/Radio(FM) button until the display lights up or turns off.

5.2 Channel Selection

Your G2pro+ radio has 22 FRS channels. Use the Volume+/Select/Scan and Volume-/Select/SOS buttons to change channels. Press the Menu/Lock button to enter the menu, then navigate to channel selection and use the arrow buttons to choose your desired channel. Press CALL/PTTB/OK to confirm.

5.3 Push-to-Talk (PTT)

To transmit, press and hold the main PTT button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen. The G2pro+ also features a secondary PTT button (CALL/PTTB/OK) for quicker communication.

5.4 VOX Function (Voice-Activated Transmission)

VOX allows for hands-free operation. When activated, the radio transmits automatically when it detects your voice. There are nine sensitivity levels. Access the menu to enable VOX and adjust its sensitivity. A higher sensitivity level means the radio will transmit with softer voice input.

5.5 NOAA Weather Channel and Alerts

Access the NOAA Weather Channel to receive real-time weather information and alerts. This feature provides crucial updates during severe weather conditions.

1. Press the On-Off/Weather/Radio(FM) button briefly to cycle through modes until you reach the Weather mode.

5.6 FM Radio

The G2pro+ includes an FM radio (87.5Hz-108.0Hz) for entertainment or news. The radio automatically scans for the strongest signals.

1. Press the On-Off/Weather/Radio(FM) button briefly to cycle through modes until you reach the FM Radio mode.
2. Use the Volume+/Select/Scan and Volume-/Select/SOS buttons to tune to different stations or initiate a scan.

5.7 Dual Watch Mode

The 2CH Dual Watch Mode allows the radio to monitor two channels simultaneously, ensuring you don't miss important communications on either channel.

1. Enter the menu and select the Dual Watch option.
2. Choose the two channels you wish to monitor.
3. The radio will scan between these two channels, pausing on whichever receives a signal.

5.8 SOS Transmission Alert

1. Press and hold the Volume-/Select/SOS button to activate the SOS alert.
