• Mercedes E-Class W213 from 2016-2023 with NTG 5.5 System and USB IN.
• Mercedes W212 from 2015 with original NTG 5x system and USB input.

5. Setup and Installation

The TAFFIO Android Multimedia System is designed for easy plug-and-play installation. However, professional installation is recommended to ensure correct wiring and avoid damage to your vehicle's electrical system.

5.1. Pre-Installation Checklist

• Ensure your vehicle is turned off and the ignition key is removed.
• Disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
• Gather necessary tools (e.g., trim removal tools, screwdrivers).
• Familiarize yourself with your vehicle's dashboard disassembly procedure.

5.2. Installation Steps

1. Remove Original Display: Carefully remove the original car display and trim panels to access the wiring.
2. Disconnect Original LVDS Cable: Locate the LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) cable connected to the original display. Disconnect it and plug it into the designated input on the TAFFIO Display (labeled 'A' in Figure 5.1).
3. Connect Power Cable: Disconnect the power cable from the original radio unit. Connect the TAFFIO power cable harness to the original radio's power input (labeled 'B' in Figure 5.1).
4. Connect to Original Radio: Connect the TAFFIO system's harness to the original radio unit (labeled 'C' in Figure 5.1).
5. Connect USB to Car USB Port: Connect the provided USB cable from the TAFFIO system to the original car's USB port (labeled 'D' in Figure 5.1).
6. Connect GPS Antenna: Connect the GPS antenna to the GPS port on the TAFFIO unit (labeled '3' in Figure 5.1). Position the antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky for optimal signal reception.
7. Connect 4G Antenna: Connect the 4G antenna to the 4G port on the TAFFIO unit (labeled '4' in Figure 5.1).
8. Insert SIM Card: If using 4G connectivity, insert your SIM card into the SIM slot (labeled '5' in Figure 5.1).
9. Connect Optional Cameras:
   • For aftermarket front camera, connect to 'Aftermarket Front CAM IN' (labeled '7' in Figure 5.1).

6. Operating Instructions

This section details the basic operation of your TAFFIO Android Multimedia System.

6.1. Switching Between Systems

The system allows for easy switching between the original car's NTG system and the Android system. This is typically done via a long press of a specific button on your original car's controls (e.g., 'NAV' or 'BACK' button, refer to your vehicle's manual for specific button functions).

6.2. Navigation

The integrated GPS supports various map types (Worldwide, North America, South America, Central America). To use navigation:

1. Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed and has a clear signal.

6.3. CarPlay & Android Auto

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your smartphone.
2. Pair your phone with the TAFFIO system via Bluetooth.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to activate CarPlay or Android Auto.

6.4. Internet Connectivity

The system supports both Wi-Fi and 4G LTE for internet access.

• Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi to connect to available Wi-Fi networks or a smartphone hotspot.
• 4G LTE: Ensure a valid SIM card is inserted. The system will automatically connect to the 4G network.
