2. Package Contents

Before assembly, verify that all components are included in your package. The recliner is typically shipped in one box.

  • Recliner Backrest
  • Recliner Seat Base (with armrests and footrest mechanism attached)
  • Power Adapter (if applicable, for any potential future powered versions - Note: This model is manually operated)
  • Instruction Manual (this document)

Note: Some smaller components or parts may be tucked inside the chair's base or backrest for shipping. Please check thoroughly before discarding packaging.

3. Assembly Instructions

Assembly is straightforward and typically takes about 20 minutes for one person. No special tools are required.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Place them on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
  2. Locate Hidden Parts: Check inside the seat base and backrest for any components that may be stored there for shipping, such as the backrest attachment brackets or any small accessories.
  3. Attach Backrest: Align the metal brackets on the backrest with the corresponding slots on the seat base. Slide the backrest down firmly until it clicks securely into place. You may need to apply gentle pressure to ensure a snug fit.
  4. Verify Stability: Once the backrest is attached, gently rock the chair to ensure it is stable and all connections are secure.
  5. Position Chair: Move the assembled recliner to its desired location. Ensure there is enough space behind the chair for it to recline fully without hitting a wall or other furniture.

4.1 Reclining Function

The recliner features a manual reclining mechanism. To recline:

  1. Locate the pull ring on the side of the recliner, typically on the right-hand side when seated.
  2. Pull the ring firmly to release the footrest. The footrest will extend forward.
  3. Lean back gently to recline the backrest to your desired position (up to 145 degrees). The chair offers multiple reclining positions for reading (90°), watching TV (120°), or napping (145°).
  4. To return to the upright position, push down on the footrest with your legs while simultaneously leaning forward. The footrest will retract, and the backrest will return to its upright position. Note that closing the footrest may require some effort.

5. Care and Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your recliner chair.

  • Cleaning Fabric: For general cleaning, gently vacuum the fabric to remove dust and debris. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild fabric cleaner following the product's instructions, testing on an inconspicuous area first. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Mechanism Care: The metal reclining mechanism is designed for durability. Avoid forcing the mechanism. If it becomes stiff, a silicone-based lubricant can be applied to moving parts, but consult a professional if issues persist.
  • Frame Inspection: Periodically check all bolts and connections to ensure they are tight. Retighten if necessary.
  • Sunlight Exposure: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fabric fading.
  • Moving the Chair: When moving the chair, lift it rather than dragging it to prevent damage to the base or flooring.
