3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Charging the Doorbell

Before initial use, fully charge the doorbell camera using the provided USB cable. Connect the cable to the doorbell's charging port and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

3.2 App Download and Account Creation

Download the "Seeing" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android). Follow the on-screen instructions to create an account and log in.

3.3 Connecting to Wi-Fi

The GridTera Smart Video Doorbell Camera supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only. It is not compatible with 5GHz Wi-Fi. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during the setup process.

  1. Open the "Seeing" app and select "Add Device" or the '+' icon.
  2. Choose the doorbell camera from the list of device types.
  3. Follow the app's prompts to enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  4. The app will generate a QR code. Hold the doorbell camera's lens approximately 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) in front of your phone screen, allowing the camera to scan the QR code.
  5. Once the doorbell successfully scans the code, it will connect to your Wi-Fi network. A voice prompt will confirm the connection.

  2. Drill holes (if using screws) and insert wall anchors.
  3. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall.
  4. Slide the doorbell camera onto the mounting bracket until it clicks into place.

4.2 AI Human Detection and Instant Alerts

The app allows you to share camera access with family members, enabling a unified approach to home monitoring and keeping everyone informed and secure.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Charging

The doorbell camera is battery-powered. When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification via the app. To charge, detach the doorbell from its mounting bracket (usually by pushing a paper clip into a small hole at the top) and connect it to the USB charging cable. A full charge typically takes a few hours. Battery life can vary from 4 to 6 weeks depending on usage frequency, especially live view and motion detection settings.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the camera lens and the doorbell's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GridTera Smart Video Doorbell Camera, refer to the following common solutions:

Q: Unable to connect the doorbell camera to your network?
  • (1) This doorbell works only with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi; ensure it's connected to a 2.4GHz network.
  • (2) Confirm that the Wi-Fi name and password are entered correctly.
  • (3) Ensure the device is no further than 33 feet (10 meters) from the router.
Q: Does this camera work with 5GHz Wi-Fi?
No, it's designed to operate on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only. We recommend having both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks set up with unique names for reliable connection.
Q: Is an SD card needed for this video doorbell?
No SD card is required. The doorbell camera saves videos in the cloud storage (sold separately).
Q: How long before the doorbell camera's battery runs out?
Generally, the battery of the doorbell camera can last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks per charge, but this is subject to how often the camera is recording. Increased usage and frequent Live View will shorten the battery life, leading to more regular recharging.
Q: Can recorded footage from the doorbell camera be stored in the cloud?
A cloud service subscription is necessary for video storage, with a trial period offered at no charge. If content, the subscription follows automatically after the trial, or you may cancel during the trial without incurring charges if not fully satisfied.
