5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To clean your controller, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the controller's finish and internal components.
5.2 Storage
Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use for extended periods, ensure the controller is fully charged before storage to preserve battery health.
6. Troubleshooting
- Controller not connecting: Ensure the controller is charged. Re-attempt the pairing process as described in Section 3.2. Check for any obstructions between the controller and the console.
- Input lag or unresponsiveness: Move closer to the console to reduce potential interference. Ensure no other wireless devices are causing interference. Try updating the controller firmware (Section 3.3).
- Stick drift: While Hall Effect joysticks are designed to minimize drift, if you experience issues, ensure the controller firmware is up to date. If problems persist, contact 8BitDo support.
- Wake-on-Shake not working: This feature is not supported on Switch 2. For original Switch, ensure the controller is properly paired and within range.
