Always observe basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. This pressure washer is designed for outdoor use only. Do not operate indoors or in enclosed spaces due to exhaust fumes.

  • Read all instructions: Familiarize yourself with the controls and proper use.
  • Fuel Safety: Handle gasoline with extreme care. It is highly flammable. Store fuel in an approved container in a well-ventilated area.
  • Engine Exhaust: The engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate only in well-ventilated areas.
  • High Pressure Spray: The high-pressure stream can cause serious injury. Never direct the spray at people, pets, or electrical devices.
  • Eye Protection: Always wear safety goggles or glasses with side shields.
  • Footwear: Wear appropriate footwear that will provide good traction and protect your feet.
  • Children and Bystanders: Keep children and bystanders away from the operating area.

Setup

The PowerSmart Gas Pressure Washer is 95% pre-assembled for quick setup. Follow these steps for initial preparation:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Attach Handle: Secure the handle to the main unit using the provided hardware.
  3. Connect High-Pressure Hose: Connect one end of the 27ft high-pressure hose to the pump outlet and the other end to the spray wand. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks.
  4. Connect Garden Hose: Attach a standard garden hose (not included) to the water inlet on the pressure washer. Ensure the water supply is clean and free of debris.
  5. Add Engine Oil: Fill the engine crankcase with the recommended engine oil (refer to the engine manual for type and capacity). Do not overfill.
  6. Add Fuel: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill. Leave space for expansion.
  7. Fill Soap Tank (Optional): If using detergent, fill the 3L on-board soap tank with pressure washer safe detergent.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your pressure washer.

Starting the Pressure Washer

  1. Ensure all hoses are securely connected and the water supply is turned on.
  2. Purge air from the system by squeezing the trigger on the spray wand until a steady stream of water flows out.
  3. Set the engine switch to the 'ON' position.
  4. Move the choke lever to the 'FULL CHOKE' position (for cold starts).
  5. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
  6. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.

Using the Pressure Washer and Nozzle Selection

The pressure washer comes with 5 quick-connect nozzles, each designed for specific cleaning tasks. Select the appropriate nozzle based on the surface and cleaning intensity required.

  • 0° Red Nozzle (Pencil Jet): Most Abrasive. Delivers a concentrated, high-impact stream. Use for tough, localized stains on concrete, metal, or for removing cracks in pavement.

  • 15° Yellow Nozzle (Chisel Tip): Medium Abrasive. Provides a 15-degree fan spray. Ideal for general cleaning of hard surfaces like concrete, asphalt, and brick.

  • 25° Green Nozzle (Fan Spray): Less Abrasive. Offers a 25-degree fan spray. Suitable for general cleaning of wood decks, fences, and patios.

  • 40° White Nozzle (Wide Fan Spray): Gentle. Produces a 40-degree wide fan spray. Best for delicate surfaces like vehicles, windows, and outdoor furniture.

  • Black Soap Nozzle: Lowest Pressure. Used for applying detergent at low pressure. Activates the soap tank.

Always test the spray on an inconspicuous area first to avoid damage. Maintain a safe distance from the surface being cleaned.

Stopping the Pressure Washer

  1. Release the trigger on the spray wand.
  2. Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position.
  3. Turn off the water supply.
  4. Squeeze the trigger on the spray wand to release any remaining pressure in the system.
  5. Disconnect the garden hose and high-pressure hose.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pressure washer.

  • Engine Oil: Check engine oil level before each use. Change oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 50 hours or annually.
  • Air Filter: Inspect and clean the air filter regularly. Replace if damaged.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect and clean the spark plug annually. Replace if necessary.
  • Fuel Filter: Check and clean the fuel filter periodically.
  • Nozzles: Clean clogged nozzles with the included nozzle cleaning tool.
  • Hoses and Connections: Inspect hoses for kinks, cuts, or leaks. Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, drain all fuel from the tank and carburetor. Run the engine until it stops from lack of fuel. Store in a dry, protected area, away from freezing temperatures.
