Important Pre-Installation Checks

Before purchasing or installing, ensure your door meets the following criteria:

• Door Thickness: Compatible with doors from 1 3/8" to 2 3/8" thick.
• Door Edge: Must be installed on a flat, centered door edge. Not compatible with recessed doors or offset latch holes.
• Clearance: Requires a minimum of 6.5 inches of clearance from the center of the bore hole to the door frame to allow for the lever handle.
• Bore Hole: Designed for standard bore holes (2 1/8") which will be covered by the 2 1/2" black seal.

Installation Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation of your JOUNJIP Single-Sided Keyless Entry Door Lock. For a visual guide, refer to the installation video below.

1. Prepare the Lock:
   • Locate the code card provided with your lock and set it aside. This card contains the factory preset code.
   • If necessary, change the orientation of the lever handle on the primary keypad. Remove the screw holding the lever handle, orient the handle so it points towards the door hinges, then reinsert and tighten the screw.
2. Prepare the Door:
   • Measure the backset of your door (typically 2 3/8" or 2 3/4").
   • Refer to the provided installation template. Find the correct backset line on the template and fold it along that line.
   • Line up the center line of the template with the center of your door's latch hole.
   • Securely tape the template to the door.
   • Drill the top hole as indicated on the template.
3. Install the Latch:
   • Insert the latch into the door edge.
   • Secure the latch with the provided screws.
4. Assemble the Keypad and Spindle:
   • Screw the extension posts into the primary keypad.
   • Tighten the extension posts using the provided wrench.
   • Attach the back seal to the primary keypad.
   • Use painter's tape to temporarily hold the back seal and keypad together for easier installation.
   • Insert the square spindle into the primary keypad.
5. Mount the Lock:
   • Slide the spindle through the opening in the latch mechanism.
   • From the inside of the door, insert the spindle into the secondary keypad body.
   • Ensure both keypads are lined up with each other and flush against the door.
   • Select the proper screw length based on your door thickness (refer to the chart below).
   • Install the screws into the extension posts to secure the secondary keypad to the primary keypad.
6. Final Test:
   • Test the keypad function by entering the factory preset code (from your code card) and operating the lever handle.

Setting and Changing the Code

Your JOUNJIP lock uses a mechanical drop pin system for its code. The factory preset code is provided on a card in your package. You can change this code using the included tweezers and extra code change pins.

• The lock supports codes with up to 9 digits.
• The order of the digits in your code does not matter. For example, if your code is 1-2-3-4, then 4-3-2-1 or 1-4-2-3 will also unlock the latch.
• To change the code, refer to the detailed instructions provided in the physical manual included with your product. This process typically involves removing the back panel of the keypad and repositioning the internal pins.

Operating the Keypad

Before entering your code, always press the "C" (Clear) button. This resets all buttons mechanically, ensuring a clean entry for your code.

Passage Mode

The lock includes a convenient "Passage Mode" function. This allows you to temporarily set up free access, meaning the door can be opened without entering a code. This is useful for periods when frequent entry and exit are needed, such as during a party or when moving groceries. Refer to your physical manual for instructions on how to activate and deactivate Passage Mode.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your JOUNJIP Keyless Entry Door Lock, regular maintenance is recommended:

• Code Not Working:

• Lever Handle Not Engaging:
  • Confirm that the spindle is correctly aligned and fully inserted through both keypads and the latch.
  • Check if the mounting screws are too tight or too loose, which can cause misalignment.

• Difficulty Turning Lever:
