1. Important Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when operating the FARMMAC F372W chainsaw. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death. Read and understand this entire manual before use.
1.1 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Head Protection: Wear a safety helmet with face shield and hearing protection.
- Eye Protection: Always wear safety glasses or goggles under the face shield.
- Hearing Protection: Use earplugs or earmuffs to prevent hearing damage.
- Hand Protection: Wear heavy-duty work gloves for grip and protection.
- Leg Protection: Wear chainsaw protective chaps or trousers.
- Foot Protection: Wear steel-toed safety boots with good ankle support.
1.2 General Safety Precautions
- Operate the chainsaw only when well-rested and alert.
- Do not operate the chainsaw under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
- Keep children, bystanders, and animals at a safe distance (at least 50 feet/15 meters) from the work area.
- Inspect the chainsaw before each use for loose parts, damage, or wear.
- Ensure the chain brake is functional.
- Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Be aware of kickback and how to avoid it.
- Do not operate in poor weather conditions (e.g., strong winds, heavy rain).
- Work on stable ground and maintain good footing.
2. Setup and Assembly
Before operating your FARMMAC F372W chainsaw, proper assembly and preparation are essential.
2.1 Unpacking and Component Identification
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present and undamaged. The package typically includes the chainsaw powerhead, guide bar, saw chain, guide bar cover, and a tool kit.

2.2 Guide Bar and Chain Installation
- Ensure the chain brake is disengaged (pulled back towards the front handle).
- Remove the clutch cover by unscrewing the two nuts.
- Place the saw chain around the clutch drum, ensuring the cutting edges face forward on the top of the guide bar.
- Fit the guide bar over the guide bar studs, aligning the chain drive links with the groove in the guide bar.
- Slide the guide bar back until the chain is taut.
- Replace the clutch cover, ensuring the chain tensioner pin engages with the hole in the guide bar.
- Hand-tighten the nuts, but do not fully tighten yet.

2.3 Chain Tension Adjustment
Proper chain tension is critical for safe and efficient operation. The chain should be snug against the guide bar, but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no sag on the underside of the guide bar.
- Using the tensioning screw (typically located on the side cover), adjust the chain tension.
- Lift the tip of the guide bar slightly while tightening the nuts on the clutch cover.
- Check the tension: the chain should snap back when pulled away from the bar and released.
- Ensure the chain can be pulled around the guide bar smoothly by hand.

2.4 Fuel and Chain Oil Preparation
The FARMMAC F372W uses a 2-cycle engine and requires a specific fuel mixture. Always use fresh, high-quality unleaded gasoline mixed with 2-cycle engine oil.
- Fuel Mixture: For the initial "break-in" period (first 5-6 tanks), a 35:1 fuel-to-oil ratio is recommended. After break-in, a 50:1 ratio can be used with modern oils, but ensure the carburetor is tuned richer if using 50:1.
- Chain Lubricant: Use a high-quality bar and chain oil for automatic lubrication of the guide bar and chain. Do not use engine oil for chain lubrication.

3. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your FARMMAC F372W chainsaw.
3.1 Starting the Chainsaw
- Place the chainsaw on firm, level ground.
- Engage the chain brake by pushing it forward.
- Set the choke lever to the "full choke" position.
- Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible.
- Pull the starter cord firmly and steadily until the engine "burps" or attempts to start. Do not pull the cord to its full extension.
- Move the choke lever to the "half choke" or "run" position (consult specific model instructions for exact positions).
- Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts.
- Once started, disengage the chain brake by pulling it back. Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before use.
3.2 Cutting Techniques
- Always maintain a firm grip with both hands on the handles.
- Keep your body balanced and stand to the side of the cutting path.
- Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.
- When felling trees, plan your escape route and ensure no one is in the fall zone.
- For bucking (cutting logs into sections), use a sawhorse or elevate the log to prevent the chain from hitting the ground.
- Be mindful of pinching the guide bar in the wood; use wedges if necessary.

3.3 Stopping the Chainsaw
To stop the engine, simply press the stop switch to the "OFF" position. Engage the chain brake immediately after stopping the engine.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your FARMMAC F372W chainsaw.
4.1 Daily Checks and Cleaning
- Clean the guide bar groove and oil holes.
- Remove sawdust and debris from the engine cooling fins and air filter.
- Check the chain tension and adjust if necessary.
- Inspect the chain for sharpness and damage.
- Verify the chain brake functions correctly.
4.2 Chain Sharpening
A sharp chain is crucial for efficient and safe cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly using a round file of the correct diameter (typically 5/32" or 4.0mm for 3/8" pitch chains, but verify for your specific chain). Maintain consistent angles for all cutters.
4.3 Air Filter and Spark Plug
- Air Filter: Clean the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance and increase fuel consumption.
- Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean or replace if it is fouled or worn. The FARMMAC F372W is equipped with high-quality spark plugs for reliable ignition.
4.4 Compatibility and Parts
The FARMMAC F372W chainsaw is designed with parts compatible with Husqvarna 372XP models. This compatibility simplifies maintenance and reduces long-term costs by ensuring parts are readily available.
