Safety Information

  • Always place the incubator on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, drafts, or extreme temperature fluctuations.
  • Ensure the power supply matches the voltage requirements specified on the product label.
  • Do not immerse the incubator or any electrical components in water or other liquids.
  • Unplug the incubator from the power outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not operate the incubator if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or has been dropped.

Product Components

The MATICOOPX 20 Egg Incubator consists of the following main parts:

  1. Control Panel: Displays temperature, humidity, and hatch day countdown. Allows for setting adjustments.
  2. Transparent Lid: Provides visibility into the incubation chamber.
  3. Egg Turning Motor & Mechanism: Automatically rotates eggs at set intervals.
  4. Egg Trays: Holds up to 20 chicken eggs.
  5. Heating Element & Fan: Maintains stable internal temperature and circulates air.
  6. External Water Bottle & Inlet: For convenient water refilling without opening the lid.
  7. Built-in Egg Candler: Integrated light for observing embryo development.
  8. Base Unit: Houses the water channels and provides structural support.

Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Assembly:
    • Place the egg turning mechanism onto the base unit.
    • Insert the egg trays into the turning mechanism.
    • Attach the external water bottle holder to the side of the base unit and secure the water bottle.
    • Place the transparent lid securely on top of the base unit.
  3. Initial Water Filling: Fill the external water bottle with distilled or demineralized water. The water will slowly drip into the incubator's humidity channels.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the incubator and then plug it into a suitable electrical outlet. The control panel will illuminate.
  5. Pre-heating: Allow the incubator to run for at least 2-4 hours empty to stabilize the internal temperature and humidity before placing eggs. This also allows you to verify settings.

Operating Instructions

Temperature and Humidity Control

The incubator features a circulating airflow system to maintain stable conditions.

Figure 2: Fan-assisted induced airflow system. This diagram illustrates how the internal fan circulates warm and cold air to ensure a consistent temperature throughout the incubator.

  • Setting Temperature: Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the control panel to adjust the desired temperature. Refer to specific egg type requirements for optimal settings (e.g., chicken eggs typically require 99.5°F - 100°F).
  • Monitoring Humidity: The control panel displays the current humidity level. Adjust humidity by adding or removing water from the external bottle or by adjusting the water channels inside the incubator (refer to specific egg type requirements).

Egg Placement

  • Carefully place up to 20 fertilized chicken eggs into the egg trays. Ensure eggs are clean and free from cracks.
  • Position eggs with the larger, blunt end slightly elevated, if possible, to aid in air cell development.

Automatic Egg Turning

The incubator automatically turns eggs side-to-side at 60-minute intervals to prevent the embryo from sticking to the shell membrane.

Figure 3: Automatic egg turning and auto-stop function. This image illustrates the incubator's ability to automatically turn eggs from Day 1, and then cease turning approximately 3 days before the expected hatch date (Day 19 for chickens) to prepare for hatching.

  • The automatic turning function will operate continuously from the start of incubation.
  • The incubator is designed to automatically stop turning eggs approximately 3 days before the expected hatch date (e.g., Day 19 for chicken eggs). This is crucial for the chicks to position themselves correctly for hatching.

External Water Refilling

The external water refilling system allows you to add water without opening the incubator lid, minimizing temperature and humidity fluctuations.

Figure 4: External water refilling system. This image shows the water bottle attached to the side of the incubator, demonstrating how water can be added without disturbing the internal environment.

  • Monitor the water level in the external bottle and the humidity display on the control panel.
  • Refill the bottle as needed with distilled or demineralized water. Avoid using tap water, which can leave mineral deposits.

Built-in Egg Candler

The integrated egg candler allows for convenient observation of embryo development without needing additional equipment.

Figure 5: Built-in egg candler in use. This image illustrates the process of candling an egg using the incubator's integrated light, showing different stages of embryo development.

  • To use the candler, gently lift an egg and place it over the candling light on the control panel.
  • Observe the internal contents of the egg in a darkened room to see veins, embryo growth, or fertility.
  • Candling is typically performed around Day 7 and Day 14 of incubation.

Hatching Process

  • As mentioned, the automatic egg turning will cease 3 days before the expected hatch date.
  • Increase humidity slightly during the last 3 days (lockdown period) to soften eggshells and aid hatching.
  • Avoid opening the incubator during hatching to maintain stable temperature and humidity.
  • Once chicks have hatched and dried, they can be moved to a brooder.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After each hatch, unplug the incubator and disassemble the removable parts. Wash the base, egg trays, and water bottle with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely.
  • Disinfection: Use a mild disinfectant solution suitable for poultry equipment to sanitize all surfaces that came into contact with eggs or chicks.
  • Storage: Store the clean and dry incubator in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
  • Water Channels: Periodically check and clean the water channels in the base unit to prevent mineral buildup, especially if using non-distilled water.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Temperature too low/highIncorrect setting, room temperature fluctuations, faulty sensor.Verify settings. Move incubator to a stable environment. Contact support if sensor is suspected faulty.
Humidity too low/highInsufficient/excess water, room humidity, blocked water channels.Adjust water level in bottle/channels. Ensure channels are clear.
