Safety Information
Always operate the generator in a well-ventilated area to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Never operate indoors or in enclosed spaces. Keep children and pets away from the generator during operation. Ensure the generator is placed on a level surface.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) Protect Feature
This generator is equipped with a CO Protect system designed to automatically shut down the engine if carbon monoxide levels become dangerously high in the operating area. This feature is a critical safety measure, but it does not replace the need for proper ventilation. Always use a battery-operated carbon monoxide alarm in any enclosed or partially enclosed area where a generator is used.

Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Add Engine Oil: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick and add approximately 0.4 liters of 5W-30 engine oil. Do not overfill. Ensure the generator is on a level surface when checking oil levels.
- Add Fuel: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 89 or higher. Do not use E85 or any other fuel type. Do not overfill the tank.
- Initial Startup Preparation: Before starting, ensure all electrical devices are disconnected from the generator.

Operating Instructions
- Starting the Generator:
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
- Eco Mode: The generator features an Eco Mode switch. When activated, the engine speed automatically adjusts to the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise levels. For sensitive electronics, ensure the generator is running smoothly before connecting.
- Connecting Devices:
- The control panel includes AC 120V 20A outlets, an AC 120V 30A RV Ready outlet, a 12V DC port, and dual USB ports (5V 1A, 5V 2.1A).
- Connect your devices to the appropriate outlets. Do not exceed the generator's rated wattage.
- Parallel Capability: This generator is parallel capable, allowing you to connect two PowerSmart inverter generators for increased power output. Refer to the parallel kit instructions for detailed connection procedures.
- Run Time: The generator can run for approximately 4.5 hours at 50% load.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your generator.
- Oil Change Schedule:
- First oil change: After 1 hour of operation.
- Second oil change: After 10 hours of operation.
- Subsequent oil changes: Every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
- Air Filter: Inspect and clean the air filter regularly. Replace if damaged.
- Spark Plug: Check and clean the spark plug periodically. Replace if necessary.
- Storage: For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, and add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your generator.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine does not start | No fuel, low oil, choke not set, spark plug issue | Add fuel, check oil level and add if low, adjust choke, inspect/replace spark plug |
| No power output | Overload, circuit breaker tripped, Eco Mode engaged with high load | Reduce load, reset circuit breaker, disengage Eco Mode for high starting loads |
| Engine shuts down unexpectedly | Low oil shutdown, carbon monoxide auto shutdown, overload | Check oil level, ensure proper ventilation, reduce load |
| Excessive noise | Loose components, high load without Eco Mode | Check for loose parts, engage Eco Mode when appropriate |
