1. Safety Information
WARNING: Carbon Monoxide Hazard. Generators produce carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operating a generator indoors can kill you in minutes. CO Shield technology monitors CO accumulation and automatically shuts off the engine if unsafe levels are detected. However, CO Shield is not a substitute for an indoor carbon monoxide alarm or for safe operation. ALWAYS use the generator outdoors, far away from occupied buildings, with engine exhaust pointed away from people and buildings. DO NOT allow engine exhaust fumes to enter a confined area through windows, doors, vents, or other openings.
WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard. Never operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all connections are secure and dry. Use ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected outlets when operating in damp or wet locations.
WARNING: Fire Hazard. Gasoline and propane are highly flammable. Store fuel in approved containers in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources. Never refuel a hot or running engine. Allow the generator to cool before refueling.
Read and understand the entire instruction manual before operating the generator. Failure to follow instructions can result in serious injury or death.

3. Setup
3.1 Unboxing and Assembly
Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. The unit includes a wheel kit, engine oil, oil funnel, and a propane hose with regulator. Attach the wheels and support legs as per the included assembly instructions to ensure stability and mobility.

Figure 6: Included accessories: propane hose, engine oil, and wheel kit for assembly.
3.2 Adding Engine Oil
Before first use, add the provided 10W-30 engine oil. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick, remove it, and use the included funnel to slowly pour the oil into the engine until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
3.3 Connecting the Battery
The generator features an electric start and comes with a battery. Connect the battery terminals following the instructions in the manual, ensuring correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative). This step is crucial for the electric start function.
3.4 Fueling the Generator
This is a dual-fuel generator, capable of running on gasoline or propane.
- Gasoline: Ensure the generator is off and cool. Fill the 7.7-gallon fuel tank with unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane). Do not overfill.
- Propane: Connect the provided 6.5-foot propane hose with a built-in regulator to a 20-pound (or larger) propane tank and to the generator's propane inlet. Ensure all connections are tight.

3.5 Generator Placement
Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Position it far away from windows, doors, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide from entering occupied buildings. Ensure the exhaust is directed away from people and structures.

4.2 Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is placed outdoors and properly fueled.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Select the desired fuel type (gasoline or propane) using the fuel select dial.
- For electric start, press and hold the electric start button until the engine starts. For manual start, pull the recoil starter handle firmly.
- Once started, allow the engine to run for a few moments before connecting loads.
4.3 Connecting Equipment
The generator provides multiple outlets:
- Two 120V 20A GFCI protected household duplex outlets (5-20R).
- One 120/240V 30A locking outlet (L14-30R).
- One 120/240V 38A outlet (L14-50R).
Connect your appliances using appropriate extension cords. Do not overload the generator. Refer to the "Calculating Wattage" section for guidance.
4.4 Monitoring with Intelligauge
The Intelligauge display allows you to monitor voltage, frequency, and run-time hours. This helps in tracking power output and scheduling maintenance.
4.5 Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of your generator. Refer to the maintenance schedule in the full manual for detailed intervals.
- Oil Change: Change engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 100 hours or annually.
- Air Filter: Inspect and clean the air filter every 50 hours or more often in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.
- Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours. Clean or replace as needed.
- Fuel System: Drain the fuel tank and carburetor if storing for more than 30 days. Use a fuel stabilizer if storing with fuel.
6. Troubleshooting
If your generator experiences issues, consult the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Engine Will Not Start:
- Check fuel level (gasoline or propane).
- Ensure fuel valve is open and correct fuel type is selected.
- Check engine oil level.
- Verify battery connections for electric start.
- Check spark plug for fouling or damage.
- No Power Output:
- Check all circuit breakers on the control panel.
- Ensure no overload condition exists (reduce connected loads).
- Verify all connections are secure.
- CO Shield Shutoff:
- Move the generator to an open, outdoor area with good ventilation.
- Allow the unit to cool down and ventilate the area.
- Restart the generator after ensuring safe operating conditions.
