Important Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating welding equipment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death.
- Electric Shock: Welding current can cause fatal electric shock. Ensure proper grounding, wear dry gloves, and insulate yourself from the workpiece and ground.
- Fumes and Gases: Welding produces fumes and gases hazardous to health. Work in a well-ventilated area or use an approved respirator.
- Arc Rays: Arc rays can burn eyes and skin. Always wear a welding helmet with appropriate shade lenses and protective clothing.
- Fire and Explosion: Welding sparks and hot metal can cause fires. Keep flammable materials away from the welding area. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
- Hot Parts: Welded parts and equipment can be extremely hot. Allow them to cool before handling or wear heat-resistant gloves.
Refer to national and local safety standards for comprehensive welding safety guidelines.

Setup Guide
Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Inspect the welder and accessories for any signs of damage during transit. Contact customer support if any damage is found.
- Ensure all listed components are present.
Connecting Power
The RUBIK MIG160 operates on a 110V power supply. Connect the power cord to a suitable grounded outlet. Ensure the power switch on the welder is in the 'OFF' position before connecting.
Installing Welding Wire
- Open the wire feed compartment.
- Place the appropriate wire spool (1LBS or 2LBS) onto the spindle, ensuring it rotates freely.
- Thread the welding wire through the guide tube and into the drive roller mechanism.
- Adjust the drive roller tension to prevent slipping or crushing the wire.
- Close the compartment.

Connecting Welding Torch and Ground Clamp
- Connect the welding torch cable to the designated positive (+) terminal on the front panel.
- Connect the ground clamp cable to the designated negative (-) terminal on the front panel.
- Securely attach the ground clamp to the workpiece or a sturdy metal workbench that is electrically connected to the workpiece.
Operating Instructions
General Operation
- After completing the setup, turn the power switch to the 'ON' position.
- The LCD display will illuminate, showing current settings.
- Use the control knob to select the desired welding mode (MIG Gas, MIG Gasless, MMA Stick) and adjust welding current/voltage as needed for your application.

MIG Gas Welding (GMAW)
For MIG Gas welding, connect a shielding gas cylinder (e.g., CO2 or Argon/CO2 mix) to the gas inlet on the welder. Use 0.030'' welding wire. This mode provides cleaner welds with less spatter, ideal for thinner materials and aesthetic finishes.
MIG Gasless Welding (FCAW)
MIG Gasless welding uses flux-cored wire (0.035'' or 0.039'') which produces its own shielding gas, eliminating the need for an external gas cylinder. This mode is suitable for outdoor welding or applications where gas cylinders are impractical.
MMA Stick Welding (SMAW)
For MMA Stick welding, connect the electrode holder (not included, typically) to the positive (+) terminal and the ground clamp to the negative (-) terminal. This mode is robust and suitable for thicker materials and various environmental conditions.

Welding Helmet Usage
Always wear the provided welding helmet during any welding or grinding operation to protect your eyes and face from intense light, sparks, and spatter. Ensure the helmet's lens shade is appropriate for the welding current being used.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your RUBIK MIG160 welder.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the welder's exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Use compressed air to clear dust and debris from ventilation openings. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables (power, torch, ground) for cuts, fraying, or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Wire Feed System: Check the wire feed rollers for wear and cleanliness. Clean any accumulated debris to ensure smooth wire feeding.
- Nozzle and Contact Tip: Inspect and clean the welding torch nozzle and contact tip regularly. Replace worn or spatter-clogged tips to maintain arc quality.
- Storage: Store the welder in a clean, dry environment, away from excessive dust, moisture, and corrosive materials.
Troubleshooting Guide
This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For problems not listed here, contact customer support.
