JMT HLK-LD102 Radar Module User Manual

Model: HLK-LD102

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the JMT HLK-LD102 10g Hand Sweep Sensor Near Field Wave Trigger Radar Module. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure optimal performance and safety.

2. Safety Information

Observe the following safety precautions to prevent damage to the module or injury to personnel:

  • Ensure the power supply meets the specified voltage and current requirements. An unstable power supply can lead to false alarms, non-induction, or cyclic self-starts.
  • Protect the microwave antenna from metal objects (e.g., solder wire) on its surface, as this can affect sensing distance and accuracy.
  • Handle the module gently to avoid intense vibration or deformation. Keep it flat during operation.
  • Maintain an independent operating space, ensuring a free space interval of more than 2mm around the module.
  • Avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures outside the specified operating range (-20℃ to +60℃).

3. Product Overview

The JMT HLK-LD102 is a compact, high-sensitivity inductive microwave radar module designed for near-field wave triggering and hand sweep sensing applications. It offers stable performance with IO high/low level and serial communication capabilities.

4. Setup

Follow these guidelines for proper setup of the HLK-LD102 module:

  1. Power Supply: Connect the module to a stable power supply within the operating voltage range of 3.3V to 122V. Ensure the power supply's output voltage, current, and ripple factor meet standard requirements to prevent operational issues.
  2. Placement: Position the module in an area where the microwave antenna is unobstructed. Avoid placing metal objects directly on or very close to the antenna surface.
  3. Environmental Considerations: Be aware that reflecting microwaves from surrounding walls or obstacles can affect sensing distance and angle. Conversely, an empty surrounding environment may attenuate sensing capabilities.
  4. Isolation: Maintain a clear space of at least 2mm around the module to ensure proper operation and prevent interference.
  5. Initial Stabilization: After powering on, the module requires approximately 15 seconds for initialization and noise analysis. During this period, the module will not perform normal induction work.

5. Operating Instructions

The HLK-LD102 module is designed for hand sweep and proximity sensing. Key operational parameters include:

  • Sensing Range: The module supports an adjustable hand sweep sensing range of 0.1-0.2 meters and a proximity sensing range of 1-2 meters.
  • Sensing Angle: The typical sensing angle is 110° ±10° when wall-mounted or flush-mounted.
  • Delay Time: The default delay time, which is the duration the output state is maintained after triggering, is 5 seconds. This parameter can be adjusted as needed.
  • Sensing Distance Adjustment: The sensing distance can be adjusted to suit specific application requirements.
  • Fast Test Mode: For testing purposes, if the module is switched on and off 3 times consecutively, it will enter a fast test mode on the 4th power-on. In this mode, the delay is 5 seconds, and the distance defaults to the normal value. After testing, powering off and then on again will return the module to normal operating mode.

6. Maintenance

The JMT HLK-LD102 module is designed for low maintenance. To ensure longevity and reliable performance:

  • Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid physical impact or excessive force on the module.
  • Regularly inspect connections for secure fit.
  • Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with the HLK-LD102 module, consider the following:

  • False Alarms or No Induction: This can often be caused by an unstable or inadequate power supply. Verify that the power supply meets the specified voltage, current, and ripple factor standards. Strong electromagnetic radiation in the environment can also cause false alarms.
  • Inconsistent Sensing: Test results may vary with different test environments or moving targets. The presence of a metal casing can shield electromagnetic waves and affect perceived distance.
  • Reduced Sensing Distance/Angle: Reflecting microwaves from surrounding surfaces can enhance sensing, while empty surroundings can attenuate it. Ensure the antenna is clear of obstructions, especially metal objects.
  • Cyclic Self-Start: An unstable power supply is a common cause for this behavior.
  • Weak Sensing Area: There may be inherent errors and uncertainties in weak sensing areas.

If problems persist after checking these points, consult the relevant technical personnel for assistance.
