Setup
1. Placement
Place the dishwasher on a stable, level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation and access to connections. The compact dimensions are approximately 42.8 cm (width) x 42.5 cm (depth) x 45.8 cm (height).

2. Water Connection
The DW5 BK offers two methods for water supply:
- Manual Fill: Use the provided water pitcher to pour water directly into the top inlet. Approximately 5 liters of water are required per cycle.
- Direct Connection: Connect the inlet hose to a water tap. Ensure the connection is secure to prevent leaks.
Connect the drain hose to a sink or a suitable drainage point. Ensure the drain hose is not kinked and allows for proper water flow.

3. Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the specifications of the appliance (220 Volts).
Operating Instructions
1. Loading Dishes
Arrange dishes, cutlery, and other items in the dishwasher. Ensure items do not block the spray arms. The dishwasher can accommodate plates up to 27 cm in diameter. Utilize the cutlery basket and the fruit basket as needed.

2. Adding Detergent
Open the detergent dispenser and add the appropriate amount of dishwasher detergent (powder, liquid, or tablet). Close the dispenser securely.

3. Selecting a Program
The Duronic DW5 BK features 7 wash programs:
- Normal: 69 min, 55-68°C
- Eco: 68 min, 46-62°C (for energy and water saving)
- Quick: 29 min, 50-62°C (for lightly soiled dishes)
- Intensive: 89 min, 55-75°C (for heavily soiled items)
- Glass: 50 min, 55-68°C (for delicate glassware)
- Fruit: 19 min, Cold (for washing fruits and vegetables)
- Self-Cleaning: For maintaining the dishwasher's interior.
Use the touch control panel to select your desired program.

4. Starting a Cycle
Press the 'Start/Pause' button to begin the selected wash cycle. The LED display will show the remaining time.
5. Special Features
- Drying Function: An extra PTC drying function ensures dishes are ready for use after washing. This typically runs for 60 minutes after the wash cycle.
- Delay Start: You can set a delay for the wash cycle to start at a later time, up to 18 hours.
- Child Lock: Activate the child lock to prevent accidental operation by children.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Filter
Regularly clean the filter system located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub to ensure optimal cleaning performance and prevent blockages. Twist and lift the filter to remove it, rinse under running water, and brush away any food debris. Reinsert the filter securely.

2. General Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the dishwasher with a damp cloth. For the interior, use a dishwasher cleaner or run a self-cleaning cycle periodically.
Troubleshooting
- Dishwasher not starting: Check if the power cord is securely plugged in and the door is fully closed. Ensure a program is selected.
- Dishes not clean: Verify that the spray arms are not blocked, the filter is clean, and sufficient detergent is used. Ensure dishes are loaded correctly.
- Water not draining: Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages. Clean the filter.
- Excessive noise: Ensure the dishwasher is level and dishes are not rattling against each other or the spray arms.
