5. Setup Instructions
The DIGITEN DHC312 is designed for plug-and-play convenience. Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Placement: Position the main controller unit in a stable location.
- Sensor Connection: Ensure the humidity sensor is securely connected to the main controller unit. Place the sensor probe in the environment where humidity needs to be monitored and controlled. Avoid placing it near direct airflow or heat sources for accurate readings.
- Power Connection: Plug the controller's power plug into a standard electrical outlet (100-240VAC).
- Appliance Connection:
- For humidification, plug your humidifier into the outlet labeled "HUMIDIFICATION" on the dual-stage power strip.
- For dehumidification, plug your dehumidifier or exhaust fan into the outlet labeled "DEHUMIDIFICATION".
Important: Ensure your humidifier has an automatic restart function for seamless operation with this controller.

6. Operating Instructions
The DHC312 features a clear digital display and intuitive buttons for easy operation.
6.1 Display Overview

Image 6.1: Detailed view of the controller's LCD screen, indicating various display elements such as current temperature, current humidity, and set humidity.
- Working Mode: Indicates whether the unit is in humidification or dehumidification mode.
- Current Temperature: Displays the real-time ambient temperature.
- Current Humidity: Shows the real-time ambient humidity percentage.
- Setting Humidity (SET): Displays the target humidity percentage you have set.
- Difference (DIFF): Indicates the humidity differential setting.
- Calibration (CA): Indicates if calibration is active.
6.2 Setting Target Humidity
- Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) button to adjust the target humidity value (SET).
- After setting the desired value, wait approximately 5 seconds. The controller will automatically save the setting and return to the normal display mode.
6.3 Advanced Settings (Temperature Unit, Difference, Calibration)
- Long press the SET button for 3 seconds until the °C or °F indicator flashes.
- While the indicator is flashing, short press the SET button to cycle through the advanced settings: Temperature Unit (°C/°F), Difference (DIFF), and Calibration (CA).
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to adjust the value for the selected setting.
- Long press the SET button for 3 seconds to save the changes and exit the advanced settings menu.

6.4 Humidification and Dehumidification Logic
The controller operates based on the set humidity value and the difference (DIFF) setting:
- Humidification: The humidification outlet turns ON when the measured humidity is ≤ (Setting Value - DIFF). It turns OFF when the measured humidity is ≥ Setting Value.
- Dehumidification: The dehumidification outlet turns ON when the measured humidity is ≥ (Setting Value + DIFF). It turns OFF when the measured humidity is ≤ Setting Value.

7. Calibration
The DHC312 allows for humidity calibration to ensure accuracy. If you have a trusted reference hygrometer, you can adjust the controller's reading.
- Access the advanced settings menu by long pressing the SET button for 3 seconds.
- Short press the SET button until 'CA' (Calibration) is displayed.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to adjust the calibration value. This value will offset the measured humidity.
- Long press the SET button for 3 seconds to save and exit.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DIGITEN DHC312, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Controller display is off. | No power supply. | Check if the power plug is securely inserted into a live outlet. Verify the outlet is functioning. |
| Inaccurate humidity readings. | Sensor dirty or improperly placed; calibration needed. | Clean the sensor gently. Relocate the sensor away from direct airflow or heat. Perform a calibration as described in Section 7. |
| Humidifier/Dehumidifier not activating. | Incorrect settings; appliance not working; appliance lacks auto-restart. | Verify the target humidity and DIFF settings. Ensure the appliance is plugged into the correct outlet and is functional. Confirm your appliance has an auto-restart function. |
| Temperature display is incorrect. | Sensor issue or environmental factors. | Ensure the sensor is not exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. The controller measures, but does not control, temperature. |
9. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your DIGITEN DHC312 Humidity Controller, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the main unit and display with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Sensor Care: Keep the humidity sensor clean and free from dust, debris, or moisture buildup. Gently clean the sensor housing if necessary.
- Storage: If storing the controller for an extended period, disconnect it from power, clean it, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the controller to corrosive gases, high humidity (beyond its operating range), or extreme temperatures, which can affect its performance and lifespan.
