This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Bettdow Magic Keyboard. This keyboard is designed to enhance your iPad experience by providing a physical keyboard, multi-touch trackpad, and innovative charging features.

Note: This keyboard is not compatible with the 2024 iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) or 2025 iPad Pro 11-inch (M5).

Setup Instructions

1. Attach iPad: Align your iPad with the magnetic back panel of the keyboard case. The magnets will automatically secure the iPad in place.
2. Power On: Open the keyboard case. The keyboard will automatically power on.
3. Bluetooth Pairing:
   • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad.
   • The keyboard will automatically connect via Bluetooth. If it doesn't connect automatically, go to your iPad's Bluetooth settings and select the keyboard from the list of available devices.
   • Once paired, the keyboard will automatically connect when the case is opened for subsequent uses.
4. Initial Connection Troubleshooting: If you experience connection issues during the first setup, try restarting your iPad after attaching it to the keyboard. This can resolve initial pairing problems.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Charging and Power Management

• Automatic Power Supply: The keyboard receives power directly from your iPad when connected, eliminating the need for separate charging of the keyboard.
• Bidirectional Charging: The keyboard features a Type-C charging port. You can connect a Type-C cable to this port to charge your iPad through the keyboard, simplifying your charging setup.
• Low Power Consumption: The keyboard is designed for low power consumption. It consumes approximately 60mAh from your iPad during normal use (without backlight).
• Auto Sleep/Wake: Opening the case automatically powers on the keyboard. Closing the case or leaving it idle for 1 minute will put the keyboard into sleep mode, conserving iPad battery. Press any key to wake it up.

Multi-Touch Trackpad

The integrated multi-touch trackpad supports iOS multi-touch gestures, allowing for intuitive navigation and control of your iPad. This transforms your iPad into a more laptop-like experience for tasks such as document editing, report creation, and web browsing.

Backlight Adjustment

The keyboard features a 3-level adjustable backlight, allowing comfortable and fast typing even in dimly lit environments.

• Use the dedicated backlight key (often represented by a light bulb icon) to cycle through brightness levels.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the keyboard and case. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: When not in use, keep the keyboard case closed to protect both the keyboard and your iPad from dust and scratches.
• Handling: Handle the keyboard with care. Avoid dropping it or exposing it to excessive force, which could damage the internal components or the magnetic connectors.
• Liquid Exposure: Keep the keyboard away from liquids. In case of accidental spills, immediately disconnect the iPad and allow the keyboard to dry completely before reuse.

Troubleshooting

• Keyboard Not Responding:
  • Ensure your iPad is correctly seated and magnetically connected to the keyboard.
