Setup

The SSK External Portable SSD is designed for plug-and-play functionality, requiring no additional software installation for basic operation.

Connecting the SSD:

Identify the appropriate port on your device (USB-C or USB-A).
Use the provided 2-in-1 USB-C to USB-C cable. If your device has a USB-A port, attach the USB-C to USB-A adapter to the cable.
Connect the cable to the SSK Portable SSD.
Plug the other end of the cable into your device's USB port.
The LED indicator on the SSD will blink during data transmission, indicating active connection and operation.

Operating Instructions

Data Transfer:

Once connected, the SSK SSD will appear as an external storage device on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. You can drag and drop files, copy and paste, or use your device's file management system to transfer data to and from the SSD.

High Speed Transfer: The SSD supports USB 3.2 Gen2, offering read speeds up to 550MB/s and write speeds up to 500MB/s. This allows for rapid transfer of large files, high-resolution photos, and videos.
Expanding Device Capacity: Use the SSD to instantly expand the storage capacity of your iPhone 15, Android phone, tablet, or computer, freeing up internal storage.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SSK Portable SSD.

Safe Disconnection: Always safely eject or unmount the SSD from your device before physically disconnecting it. This prevents data corruption and ensures the integrity of your files. The LED indicator will stop blinking when data transfer is complete, signaling it's safe to disconnect.
Physical Care: The SSD is lightweight and portable. Avoid dropping it or exposing it to extreme temperatures, moisture, or strong magnetic fields.
S.M.A.R.T. Monitoring: The SSD features S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) for monitoring its health. Refer to your operating system's disk utility for S.M.A.R.T. status.
TRIM Technology: TRIM technology is integrated to maintain consistent write speeds and extend the lifespan of the drive. Ensure your operating system supports and enables TRIM for SSDs.
Auto Sleep: The drive includes an auto-sleep feature after 20 minutes of inactivity to conserve power and reduce wear.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SSK Portable SSD, try the following solutions:

Problem	Possible Solution
SSD not recognized by device.	Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the SSD and your device. Try a different USB port on your device. Test the SSD with another compatible device to rule out device-specific issues. Check your device's disk management or file explorer to see if the drive appears, even if not automatically mounted. You may need to initialize or format the drive if it's new or has been used on a different operating system. Ensure your device's operating system is up to date.
Slow data transfer speeds.	Ensure your device's USB port supports USB 3.2 Gen2 (or at least USB 3.0). Connecting to a USB 2.0 port will result in significantly slower speeds. Verify the cable used is the original SSK 2-in-1 cable or another high-quality USB 3.2 Gen2 compatible cable. Close other applications that might be using system resources or performing background data transfers. Ensure the SSD is not nearly full, as performance can degrade when storage is almost exhausted.
LED indicator not blinking.	The LED blinks during data transmission. If no data is being transferred, it may be solid or off. If the SSD is connected and not recognized, refer to "SSD not recognized by device" above.
Data corruption or errors.	Always safely eject the SSD before disconnecting. Run a disk check utility on your operating system to scan and repair any errors on the drive. Ensure your device is free from malware or viruses.
