Setup

1. Installation on Handlebar

  1. Positioning: Determine the optimal position for the controller on your handlebar. The clamp-on mount allows for flexible placement.
  2. Attachment: Open the mounting clamp and place it around the handlebar. Secure the clamp using the provided bolt and a T25 Torx wrench. Tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque (refer to the quick start guide or SRAM's official documentation for exact torque specifications).
  3. Orientation: Adjust the angle of the controller for ergonomic access to the buttons.

2. Pairing with AXS Components

The AXS Pod Controller must be paired with your SRAM AXS derailleur and other AXS components.

  1. Wake Up Components: Ensure all AXS components (derailleur, dropper post if applicable) are awake by pressing their AXS buttons briefly.
  2. Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the AXS button on the derailleur until the LED flashes slowly.
  3. Pair Controller: Press and hold the AXS button on the Pod Controller until its LED flashes slowly.
  4. Confirm Pairing: Once both LEDs flash rapidly and then turn solid green, the components are paired. Repeat for any other AXS components.

Operating Instructions

Shifting Gears

The AXS Pod Controller features two distinct buttons for shifting. By default, the upper button shifts to a larger cog (easier gear), and the lower button shifts to a smaller cog (harder gear).

  • Up-shift (Easier Gear): Press the upper button briefly.
  • Down-shift (Harder Gear): Press the lower button briefly.
  • Multi-shift: Hold down either button to shift multiple gears in succession. The number of gears shifted can be customized via the AXS app.

Customization with AXS App

For advanced customization, download the SRAM AXS app on your smartphone. The app allows you to:

  • Reverse shift logic (upper button for harder gear, lower for easier).
  • Adjust multi-shift settings (number of gears shifted per hold).
  • Monitor battery levels of all AXS components.
  • Update firmware for improved performance and features.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the controller with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not spray water directly into the controller or its buttons.

Battery Replacement

The AXS Pod Controller uses a CR2032 coin cell battery.

  1. Access Battery Compartment: Locate the battery cover on the underside of the controller.
  2. Remove Old Battery: Use a small coin or flat-head screwdriver to gently open the cover and remove the old CR2032 battery.
  3. Insert New Battery: Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Secure Cover: Replace the battery cover and ensure it is securely closed to maintain water resistance.

Note: Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
