3. Setup Guide

3.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Drone Battery: Insert the fully charged drone battery into the battery compartment on the drone. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  2. Charging: Connect the drone battery to the USB charger cable and plug it into a 5V/2A USB power adapter (not included). The indicator light will show charging status and turn off when fully charged. Charging typically takes 60-90 minutes.
  3. Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert 3 AAA batteries (not included), observing polarity.

3.2 Propeller Installation

The propellers are marked A and B. Match the propellers to the corresponding motor arms (A to A, B to B). Secure them with the provided screws and screwdriver. Ensure they are firmly attached but not overtightened.

3.3 Remote Control Setup

  1. Power on the remote control.
  2. Power on the drone.
  3. Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
  4. Push the left joystick up then down to pair the remote with the drone. The drone's indicator lights will stop flashing and remain solid once paired.
  5. Perform gyroscope calibration by pushing both joysticks to the bottom-left corner simultaneously until the drone lights flash rapidly and then become solid.
  6. Perform compass calibration (for GPS models): Follow the app instructions or remote control prompts to rotate the drone horizontally and vertically until calibration is complete. This is crucial for GPS accuracy.

3.4 App Download and Connection

  1. Download the designated drone app (refer to the QR code in the packaging or search for 'SuperRC XT505' in your app store).
  2. Turn on the drone and the remote control.
  3. On your smartphone, connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named 'SuperRC-XXXXXX').
  4. Open the app. You should see the live camera feed from the drone.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Flight Controls

  • Left Joystick (Throttle/Yaw): Up/Down controls altitude; Left/Right controls rotation (yaw).
  • Right Joystick (Pitch/Roll): Up/Down controls forward/backward movement (pitch); Left/Right controls left/right movement (roll).
  • Trim Buttons: Use to fine-tune drone stability if it drifts in any direction.

4.2 One-Key Takeoff/Landing

After pairing and calibration, press the One-Key Takeoff button on the remote control. The drone will automatically ascend to a stable hovering height. Press the One-Key Landing button to initiate an automatic descent and landing.

4.3 Altitude Hold Mode

The drone automatically maintains its current altitude, allowing you to focus on directional control and camera operation.

4.4 Headless Mode

In Headless Mode, the drone's orientation is relative to the pilot. Pushing the right joystick forward will always make the drone fly away from you, regardless of its front-facing direction. This simplifies control for beginners.

4.5 Special Functions

  • Waypoint Fly: Draw a path on the app interface, and the drone will follow it automatically.
  • Gesture Selfie: Perform specific hand gestures in front of the camera to trigger photo or video recording. Refer to the app for specific gestures.
  • 360° Flips: Press the 360° flip button and move the right joystick in the desired direction to perform an aerial flip.
  • Voice Control: Use predefined voice commands through the app to control drone functions.
  • Circle Fly: The drone will fly in a circular path around a designated point.
  • Rotation Fly: The drone will rotate in place.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the drone body, propellers, and camera lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or solvents that could damage electronic components.

5.2 Battery Care

  • Always use the original charging cable.
  • Do not overcharge or over-discharge batteries.
  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If not used for an extended period, charge batteries to approximately 50% capacity.

5.3 Storage

When not in use, store the drone and its accessories in the provided storage bag to protect them from dust and damage.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

IssuePossible CauseSolution
Drone won't lift off or crashes immediately after takeoff.Improper calibration, low battery, damaged propellers, uneven surface.Ensure drone and remote batteries are fully charged. Perform gyroscope and compass calibration on a flat surface. Check propellers for damage and correct installation. Try flying in an open area.
Difficulty connecting to the app or no live video feed.Incorrect Wi-Fi connection, app malfunction, interference.Verify your phone is connected to the drone's Wi-Fi network. Restart the app and the drone. Ensure no other devices are connected to the drone's Wi-Fi. Reinstall the app if necessary.
Short flight time.Battery not fully charged, old battery, flying in strong winds.Ensure batteries are fully charged before each flight. Consider replacing old batteries. Avoid flying in strong winds which consume more power.
Drone drifts during flight.Improper calibration, wind interference, unbalanced propellers.Perform gyroscope calibration. Use trim buttons to adjust stability. Check propellers for damage or debris. Fly in calm conditions.
GPS signal weak or unavailable.Flying indoors, near tall buildings, or under heavy tree cover.Fly in an open outdoor area with a clear view of the sky. Wait for the GPS indicator to show a strong signal before takeoff.
