7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your WAVLINK RapidFire MS2 enclosure, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Device Not Detected:
    • Ensure the M.2 SSD is correctly and securely installed within the enclosure.
    • Verify that the USB-C cable is properly connected to both the enclosure and your computer.
    • Try connecting to a different USB-C port on your computer.
    • Test with a different USB-C cable if available.
    • For new SSDs, ensure they are initialized and formatted in your operating system's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
  • Slow Transfer Speeds:
    • Confirm that your computer's USB port supports USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps). Connecting to a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port will result in lower speeds.
    • Ensure the USB-C cable used is rated for 10Gbps data transfer.
    • The actual speed may vary depending on the SSD's performance, file size, and system resources.
  • Enclosure Overheating:
    • Ensure the silicone thermal pad and aluminum plate are correctly installed on the SSD to facilitate heat transfer to the aluminum casing.
    • Avoid placing the enclosure in confined spaces that restrict airflow.
