4. Setup and Installation

This section outlines the steps to replace your existing chassis with the new metal upgrade chassis.

4.1. Disassembly of Original Chassis

  1. Carefully remove the body shell of your WLtoys RC car.
  2. Disconnect the battery and remove it from the vehicle.
  3. Systematically remove all components attached to the original chassis. This includes, but is not limited to, the motor, ESC, receiver, servo, suspension arms, shock towers, differentials, and battery tray. Keep track of all screws and small parts, noting their original positions.
  4. Once all components are detached, carefully remove the original chassis.

4.2. Installation of Metal Chassis

  1. Position the new cvking metal chassis plate. Ensure it is oriented correctly, matching the layout of your original chassis.
  2. Begin reattaching the components removed in Section 4.1 to the new metal chassis. Start with major structural components like the front and rear bulkheads, shock towers, and suspension mounts.
  3. Use the provided screws where appropriate. Some original screws may be reused if they are compatible and in good condition. Refer to the image in Figure 3.1 for a visual reference of the installed chassis.
  4. Mount the motor, ESC, receiver, and servo in their designated locations on the new chassis. Ensure all wires are routed neatly and securely.
  5. Reinstall the battery tray and secure it firmly.
  6. Double-check all connections and ensure all screws are tightened appropriately. Avoid over-tightening, which can strip threads.

4.3. Post-Installation Checks

  1. Verify that all components are securely attached and there is no excessive play.
  2. Check for any binding in the suspension or drivetrain components.
  3. Ensure all electronic components are properly connected and functional before reattaching the body shell.
  4. Perform a low-speed test run in a safe area to confirm proper operation.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your metal chassis.
