4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Front Dash Cam Installation
- Clean the windshield area where the dash cam will be mounted.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the dash cam.
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad on the bracket and firmly press it onto the windshield, ensuring a clear view of the road.
- Route the power cable neatly along the windshield edge and down to the power source (cigarette lighter or hardwire kit).
4.2 Rear Camera Installation
- Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield, ensuring it has a clear view.
- Connect the rear camera cable to the rear camera and route it to the front dash cam.
- Plug the rear camera cable into the designated port on the front dash cam.
4.3 OBD Hardwire Kit Installation
The OBD Hardwire Kit provides continuous power for parking monitoring and protects your vehicle's battery from draining.
- Locate your vehicle's OBD-II port, typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
- Plug the OBD connector of the hardwire kit into the vehicle's OBD-II port.
- Route the Type-C USB cable from the hardwire kit to the dash cam and plug it in.
- Adjust the low voltage protection switch on the hardwire kit according to your vehicle's voltage (12V or 24V) and desired protection level. Refer to Figure 4.1 for settings.

Figure 4.0: OBD Hardwire Kit. This image shows the complete hardwire kit, including the long cables for routing and the central module with a voltage display, designed to provide constant power to the dash cam.

Figure 4.1: Adjustable Low Voltage Protection. This diagram illustrates how to adjust the switch on the OBD Hardwire Kit to set the low voltage protection threshold for both 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems, preventing battery drain.
5. Operation
5.1 Power On/Off
- The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts (if connected to the ignition power).
- It will power off automatically when the vehicle is turned off.
- To manually power on/off, press and hold the power button.
5.2 Touch Screen Interface
The 3.18-inch touch screen allows for easy navigation and control of the dash cam settings and features.

Figure 5.1: Touch Screen Interface. This image shows the interactive touch screen of the dash cam, illustrating the various menu options and controls available for managing recordings, settings, and playback.
- Recording Screen: Displays live view from front and rear cameras.
- Settings: Access video resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, date/time, and other system settings.
- Playback: Review recorded videos directly on the dash cam.
- Emergency Lock: Tap the screen to manually lock the current recording.
5.3 Voice Control
The dash cam supports hands-free voice commands for common functions. Speak clearly and directly to the dash cam.
- "Turn on recording"
- "Turn off recording"
- "Lock video"
- "Take photo"
- "Turn on Wi-Fi"
- "Turn off Wi-Fi"
5.4 Wi-Fi & REDTIGER APP
Connect your smartphone to the dash cam via 5.8GHz Wi-Fi using the REDTIGER APP for easy access to recordings and settings.
- Download the "REDTIGER" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Enable Wi-Fi on the dash cam (via touch screen or voice command).
- On your smartphone, connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password usually displayed on the dash cam screen).
- Open the REDTIGER app to view live footage, playback recorded videos, download files, and adjust settings.

Figure 5.2: Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS Tracking. This image illustrates the dash cam's ability to connect wirelessly to a smartphone for video management and its integrated GPS function, which records location and speed data, viewable on a map interface.
5.5 GPS Functionality
The built-in GPS module records your vehicle's location, speed, and driving route. This data is embedded in the video files and can be viewed using the REDTIGER app or a compatible GPS player on a computer.
5.6 Loop Recording
The dash cam continuously records in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked footage is automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
5.7 G-Sensor & Emergency Lock
The integrated G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an event is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and protected from being overwritten by loop recording. You can also manually lock a video segment via the touch screen or voice command.
5.8 24-hour Parking Monitoring
With the OBD Hardwire Kit installed, the dash cam can monitor your vehicle while parked.
- G-Sensor Parking Mode: The dash cam will automatically start recording if it detects any impact or sudden motion while the vehicle is parked.
- Time-Lapse Parking Mode: The dash cam records continuously at a low frame rate (e.g., 1 frame per second) to create a condensed video of the parking period, saving storage space.

Figure 5.3: 24-Hour Parking Monitor. This image visually explains the two primary parking monitoring functions: G-sensor mode, which activates recording upon impact, and Time-lapse mode, which provides a condensed overview of the parking duration.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Memory Card Management
- Formatting: It is recommended to format the microSD card every 2-4 weeks to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Format the card directly through the dash cam's settings menu.
- Card Type: Use a high-endurance Class 10 or U3 microSD card (up to 128GB supported). A 64GB card is included.
- Replacement: Replace the microSD card if you notice frequent errors or recording issues.
6.2 Cleaning
- Wipe the dash cam lens and screen with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.
6.3 Firmware Updates
Periodically check the REDTIGER official website or app for available firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
7. Troubleshooting
