Setup Guide

This section provides instructions for connecting and initially setting up your FULODE DP-26 digital audio processor.

1. Power Connection

  • Ensure the DP-26 is switched off before connecting power.
  • Connect the provided power cable to the power socket on the rear panel of the DP-26.
  • Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable AC power outlet (110V/60Hz or 220V/50Hz, depending on your region and unit specification).

2. Audio Connections

The DP-26 features 2 input channels and 6 output channels, all utilizing balanced XLR connectors for professional audio signal integrity.

  • Inputs: Connect your audio source devices (e.g., mixing console, preamplifier) to the INPUT A and INPUT B XLR connectors on the rear panel.
  • Outputs: Connect your power amplifiers or other audio destination devices to the OUTPUT 1 through OUTPUT 6 XLR connectors.

3. Computer Connection (Optional)

The DP-26 offers multiple interfaces for computer control, allowing for advanced configuration and management.

Figure 2: Available Connection Methods

This diagram illustrates the three primary connection methods for the FULODE DP-26: USB, RS232, and RS485. Each icon represents a different interface for connecting the processor to a computer or network for control and configuration.

  • USB Connection: For direct connection to a single computer, use a standard USB cable to connect the USB port on the front panel of the DP-26 to your computer. This allows for easy configuration using the PC control software.
  • RS232 Serial Port: Connect a serial cable from the RS232 port on the rear panel to your computer's serial port (or a USB-to-serial adapter). This provides an alternative direct control method.
  • RS485 Connection: For controlling multiple DP-26 units (up to 250 machines) or for long-distance control (over 1500 meters), use the RS485 interface. Connect the RS485 ports of the units in a daisy-chain configuration to a suitable RS485 converter connected to your computer.

After connecting, install the dedicated PC control software on your computer. The software provides a graphical interface for comprehensive control over all DP-26 functions.

Figure 4: High-Speed Digital Signal Processing

This image highlights the core digital signal processing capabilities of the DP-26, featuring a 255MHz main frequency, 96KHz sampling frequency, 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion, and a 32-bit DSP chip, all contributing to precise and accurate audio manipulation.

Each input channel features a 31-segment Graphic Equalizer (GEQ) and 10 segments of Parametric Equalizer (PEQ). Each output channel provides 10 segments of PEQ for fine-tuning.

2. Crossover Functions

Each output channel can be configured with independent High-Pass Filters (HPF) and Low-Pass Filters (LPF). Filter parameters can be adjusted to achieve asymmetrical crossover functions.

  • Filter Slopes: Variable slopes can be set for Bessel and Butterworth filters (12dB, 18dB, 24dB per octave) and Linkwitz-Riley filters (12dB, 24dB, 36dB, 48dB per octave).

3. Delay and Phase Control

Each input and output channel includes independent delay and phase control, along with mute settings.

  • Delay Range: Up to 1000ms.
  • Step Distance: 21us for delays less than 10ms; 1ms for delays greater than 10ms.
  • Delay Units: Configurable in milliseconds (ms), meters (m), or feet (ft).

4. Limiter and Other Effects

The DP-26 integrates a built-in limiter to protect your system from signal peaks. It also includes mixer functions, noise gates, and multi-effects processing.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your FULODE DP-26.

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish and internal components.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the cooling fan exhaust port on the rear panel is clear of obstructions to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Environment: Operate the DP-26 in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, dust, and moisture. Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.
  • Connections: Periodically check all cable connections (power, audio, USB, RS232, RS485) to ensure they are secure and free from damage.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your FULODE DP-26.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power / Unit does not turn onPower cable not connected or loose; Power outlet not active; Power switch off.Ensure power cable is securely connected. Check power outlet with another device. Verify power switch on rear panel is in the 'ON' position.
No audio outputInput/output cables incorrectly connected; Mute function active; Incorrect routing in software; Gain levels too low.Check all XLR audio connections. Verify that input/output channels are not muted on the unit or in the software. Review signal routing and adjust gain levels.
Distorted audioInput signal too high (clipping); Output signal too high; Incorrect EQ/filter settings.Reduce input gain to prevent clipping (monitor LED indicators). Lower output levels. Review and adjust EQ and filter settings.
Cannot connect to PC softwareIncorrect USB/serial cable; Driver not installed; Software not running; Connection port conflict.Ensure correct cable type is used. Install necessary drivers. Close other applications that might use the serial/USB port. Try connecting through a USB hub if direct connection fails.
Fan noise is audibleNormal operation; Fan obstructed; Unit overheating.A slight fan noise is normal. Ensure the exhaust port is clear. If noise is excessive or unit feels hot, power off and allow to cool, then check ventilation.
