This cooler is engineered for low-noise operation and optimized heat pipe performance, making it suitable for mini-ITX and other compact PC cases due to its 130mm height.

2. Key Features

  • Efficient Cooling: Features 4 nickel-plated copper heat pipes and a 92mm fan for effective heat dissipation, with a 25% improvement in heat pipe load solving efficiency.
  • Compact Design: Dimensions of L92 * W70 * H130mm make it compatible with most tower cases, especially mini chassis.
  • Low-Noise Operation: Equipped with a new 9cm PWM ARGB fan featuring 6 sickle-shaped fan blades and 8 shock-absorbing silicone pads for quiet performance. Fan noise ranges from 22.3-33.8 dB(A) and speed from 800-2200 RPM.
  • Integrated ARGB Lighting: Features an integrated top cover with moderate and elegant lighting effects, and a vibrant ARGB fan.
  • Memory Compatibility: Crooked neck heat pipe design avoids interference with memory modules, allowing full display of memory (including light effects).
  • Broad Platform Support: Compatible with Intel LGA1851/1700/1200/115X and AMD AM4/AM5 sockets.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:

  • JONSBO CR1400 EVO ARGB CPU Cooler (Heatsink with pre-attached fan)
  • Mounting Hardware for Intel LGA1851/1700/1200/115X
  • Mounting Hardware for AMD AM4/AM5
  • Thermal Paste (pre-applied or in a tube)
  • User Manual (this document)

Note: The product listing specifies "FAN Copper pipe" as what's in the box, which refers to the cooler itself. Additional mounting hardware and thermal paste are standard inclusions for CPU coolers.

4. Installation Guide

Before installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged. Refer to your motherboard's manual for specific CPU socket and cooler mounting area details.

4.1. Preparation

  1. Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list.
  2. Clean the CPU surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove any old thermal paste or residue.
  3. Identify the correct mounting brackets for your CPU socket (Intel or AMD).

4.2. Mounting the Cooler

  1. Install the appropriate backplate (if required for your socket) onto the motherboard from the rear.
  2. Secure the standoffs onto the front side of the motherboard, aligning with the backplate holes.
  3. Apply a small, pea-sized amount of thermal paste to the center of your CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS).
  4. Carefully place the JONSBO CR1400 EVO cooler onto the CPU, aligning the mounting screws with the standoffs.
  5. Tighten the mounting screws in a diagonal pattern (e.g., top-left, bottom-right, top-right, bottom-left) until snug. Do not overtighten.
  6. Connect the 4-pin PWM fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on your motherboard.
  7. Connect the ARGB 3-pin cable to a compatible 5V ARGB header on your motherboard.

5. Operation

Once installed and connected, the JONSBO CR1400 EVO ARGB CPU Cooler will operate automatically based on your motherboard's fan control settings. The PWM function allows the fan speed to adjust according to CPU temperature, ensuring optimal cooling performance and noise levels.

5.1. ARGB Lighting Control

The ARGB lighting can be controlled via your motherboard's compatible 5V ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync). Ensure your motherboard has a 3-pin, 5V ARGB header. Do not connect to a 12V RGB header, as this will damage the LEDs.

  • Install the appropriate ARGB control software for your motherboard.
  • Use the software to customize lighting effects, colors, and brightness.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your CPU cooler.

  • Dust Removal: Periodically (every 3-6 months, or more frequently in dusty environments) use compressed air to clear dust from the heatsink fins and fan blades. Ensure the fan is not spinning rapidly during this process to prevent damage to the bearings.
  • Fan Cleaning: If dust buildup is significant, gently wipe the fan blades with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Thermal Paste: Re-applying thermal paste is generally not required unless the cooler is removed. If you reinstall the cooler, clean off old thermal paste from both the CPU and cooler base and apply new thermal paste.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
CPU overheatingImproper thermal paste application; Loose cooler mounting; Insufficient airflow in case; Fan not spinning.Reapply thermal paste; Re-seat and tighten cooler; Improve case airflow; Check fan connection to CPU_FAN header.
Fan not spinning or spinning slowlyIncorrect fan header connection; Fan cable damaged; BIOS/UEFI fan control settings.Ensure fan is connected to CPU_FAN header; Check cable for damage; Adjust fan curve in BIOS/UEFI.
ARGB lighting not workingIncorrect ARGB header connection (e.g., 12V RGB header); Loose connection; Motherboard ARGB software issue.Connect to a 3-pin, 5V ARGB header only; Ensure secure connection; Reinstall or update motherboard ARGB software.
Excessive noise from coolerFan hitting cables; Dust buildup on fan blades; Fan bearings worn.Route cables away from fan; Clean fan blades; If noise persists, fan may need replacement.
