Controls and Indicators
- Steering Wheel: Controls the direction of the vehicle. Features a foam cover for enhanced grip.
- Throttle Trigger: Controls forward and reverse movement. Pull for forward, push for reverse/brake.
- Steering Trim (ST.TRIM): Adjusts the neutral steering position.
- Throttle Trim (TH.TRIM): Adjusts the neutral throttle position.
- Steering Rate (SR): Adjusts the maximum steering angle.
- Throttle Limit (TH.LIMIT): Sets the maximum throttle output (50%, 75%, 100%).
- Status LED: Indicates power, binding status, and low battery.
- Bind Button: Used to initiate the binding process with a compatible receiver.
Setup
Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the transmitter.
- Slide the battery cover open.
- Insert four (4) AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery cover securely.
Binding the Transmitter to a Receiver
The binding process establishes a unique connection between your SLT2 transmitter and a compatible Spektrum SLT receiver. Refer to your receiver's manual for specific binding instructions, as the process may vary slightly.
- Ensure the receiver is powered on and in bind mode (typically indicated by a flashing LED).
- With the transmitter powered off, press and hold the bind button.
- While holding the bind button, power on the transmitter.
- Release the bind button once the transmitter's status LED begins to flash rapidly.
- The receiver's LED should turn solid, indicating a successful bind.
- Power cycle both the transmitter and receiver to confirm the bind.
Initial Adjustments
Before operating your vehicle, set the steering and throttle trims to their neutral positions. Adjust the steering rate and throttle limits according to your preference and driving conditions.
Operating Instructions
Basic Control
To control your vehicle, use the steering wheel for direction and the throttle trigger for speed. Pull the trigger to accelerate forward and push it away from you to engage reverse or braking.
Adjustable Features
- Steering Rate (SR): Use the SR dial to increase or decrease the maximum steering angle. A lower rate provides smoother, less aggressive steering, while a higher rate offers quicker response.
- Throttle Limit (TH.LIMIT): The TH.LIMIT switch allows you to set the maximum throttle output to 50%, 75%, or 100%. This is useful for beginners or when operating in confined spaces.
- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC): The SLT2 transmitter is compatible with DSC systems. If your vehicle is equipped with DSC, the transmitter will seamlessly integrate with its stability features.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the transmitter with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents, as they may damage the plastic components.
Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries from the transmitter to prevent leakage. Store the transmitter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Battery Care
Always use fresh, high-quality AA batteries. Replace all four batteries at the same time. If the status LED flashes slowly, it indicates low battery voltage, and the batteries should be replaced immediately.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Transmitter does not power on. | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Check battery polarity; replace with fresh AA batteries. |
| Vehicle does not respond to transmitter. | Not bound to receiver; receiver not powered; low transmitter/receiver battery. | Perform binding procedure; ensure receiver is powered; replace batteries in both transmitter and vehicle. |
| Erratic control or short range. | Interference; low battery; damaged antenna. | Move to an area with less interference; replace batteries; inspect antenna for damage. |
