Setup
1. Inserting a Micro SD Card
The HiBy R1 requires a Micro SD card for music storage. It supports up to 2TB of expandable storage. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the device. Use the provided card pin to gently push the card into the slot until it clicks into place. To remove, push again until it springs out.

2. Charging the Device
Connect the HiBy R1 to a power source using the provided USB-C cable. The device features a 1150mAh battery, offering up to 15 hours of playback. A full charge typically takes a few hours.
3. Initial Firmware Update
It is recommended to update the firmware to the latest version upon first use. Firmware updates often include important fixes and performance enhancements. Connect the device to Wi-Fi and navigate to the system settings to check for and install updates.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Basic Navigation
Press and hold the power button to turn the device on or off. The HiBy R1 features a 3-inch IPS touchscreen with an 800x480 resolution for navigation. Use touch gestures to browse menus, select tracks, and adjust settings.

2. Music Playback
After inserting a Micro SD card with music files, the device will scan and organize your library. You can browse music by artist, album, genre, or file. Tap on a track to begin playback. The player supports various high-resolution lossless audio formats.

3. Bluetooth Connectivity

4. Wi-Fi and Streaming Services
Connect the device to a Wi-Fi network to access online streaming services such as Tidal and Qobuz (online only) and internet radio. Navigate to the "Stream media" section to use these features.

5. MSEB Tuning
The built-in MSEB (MageSound 8-Ball) mixer allows for personalized sound tuning. Access this feature through the system settings to adjust various audio parameters to your preference.

6. Volume Limiter
To protect your hearing, the HiBy R1 includes a volume limiter. To disable this feature:
- Tap the system serial number below the HIBY logo 5 times.
- Exit the "About Player" page.
- Go to "System" > "Developer Options" > "Volume Lock" > "Disable" to enter Developer Mode.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting
Device Not Powering On

Sluggish User Interface
- Ensure the firmware is updated to the latest version.
- Restart the device.

Bluetooth Connectivity Issues
- Ensure the target Bluetooth device is in pairing mode.
- Verify that the HiBy R1's Bluetooth is enabled.
- Remember that the R1's Bluetooth is output-only and cannot connect to non-audio receiving devices like computers or smartphones.
- If connecting to a car's Bluetooth, compatibility may vary. Consider using an AUX connection if available.
Micro SD Card Not Recognized
- Ensure the Micro SD card is properly inserted into the slot.
- Try re-inserting the card.
- Test the Micro SD card in another device to confirm it is functional.
- Ensure the card is formatted correctly (e.g., FAT32 or exFAT).
