Setup

Before you begin using your Korg Multi/Poly, ensure it is properly set up. This section guides you through the initial connections and power-on procedures.

Physical Connections

Connect the included power adapter to the DC 12V input on the rear panel. For audio output, use 1/4\" Jack cables to connect the L/MONO and R outputs to your mixer, audio interface, or amplifier. MIDI In/Out ports are available for connecting to other MIDI-equipped instruments or your computer. A USB port is also provided for direct connection to a computer for data transfer and software control.

Operating Instructions

The Korg Multi/Poly offers extensive sound design capabilities. This section details how to utilize its core features.

Next-level Analog Modeling

The Multi/Poly features next-generation analog modeling technology, allowing for rich and complex sound creation. It includes four powerful oscillators per program, offering Classic, Digital, and Waveshaper types. The dual modeled filters, inspired by vintage Korg synthesizers, provide versatile sound shaping. The virtual voice card system simulates subtle variations found in real analog hardware, resulting in naturally rich timbres.

Structure & Modulation

Each program starts with four oscillators, a noise generator, ring modulator, sync, and cross-mod. These can be processed through two independent filters and modulated with four loopable envelopes, five LFOs, and six mod processors. Complex per-voice motion can be added with multi-lane Motion Sequencing 2.0, and real-time modulation is possible using simple gestures with KAOSS Physics.

Effects

The Multi/Poly includes three studio-quality insert effects, master reverb, and EQ to add the finishing touches to your sounds. These effects can be applied and adjusted to enhance the overall sonic character.

Sound Design & Randomization

For inspiration, the intelligent randomization feature can instantly generate new sounds. You can randomize the entire sound or focus on specific elements like oscillators, filters, or effects. This provides a powerful tool for creative exploration.

Maintenance
