1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Tastyle K302 Single Serve Coffee Maker. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new coffee maker. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

• Read all instructions before using the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer support for examination, repair, or adjustment.

4. Before First Use

1. Unpack the coffee maker and all accessories. Remove any packaging materials.
2. Wash the K-Pod holder, ground coffee filter basket, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
4. Perform a cleansing brew cycle: Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line (12 oz) with clean water. Do not add coffee. Place an empty mug on the drip tray. Press the power button to start the cycle. Discard the hot water. Repeat this process once more.

5. Setup and Operation

5.1 Placement

Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and to prevent steam from damaging overhead cabinets.

5.2 Brewing with K-Cups

1. Lift the lid of the coffee maker.
2. Insert a K-Cup into the K-Pod holder. Ensure it is seated correctly.
3. Close the lid firmly until it clicks.
4. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water according to your desired brew size (6, 8, 10, or 12 oz). Do not exceed the MAX fill line.

5. Place a mug on the drip tray. Ensure the mug is appropriately sized for your selected brew volume.
6. Press the power button to begin brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.

7. Brewing will complete in approximately 3 minutes. The coffee maker will automatically shut off after brewing.

5.3 Brewing with Ground Coffee

1. Lift the lid of the coffee maker.
2. Place the ground coffee filter basket into the coffee maker.
3. Add up to 20g of your preferred ground coffee into the filter basket. Ensure the ground filter lid is securely placed to prevent grounds from entering your coffee.

4. Close the lid firmly until it clicks.
5. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water according to your desired brew size (6, 8, 10, or 12 oz). Do not exceed the MAX fill line.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning improves coffee taste and prolongs the coffee maker's lifespan.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

• After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool.
• Remove and empty the K-Pod holder or ground coffee filter basket. Both accessories are dishwasher-safe or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.
• Remove and empty the drip tray. Wash with warm, soapy water.
• Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.2 Descaling and Self-Cleaning

The Tastyle K302 features a descaling reminder and a self-cleaning function. Descaling should be performed periodically to remove mineral buildup, especially in areas with hard water.

1. When the descaling reminder activates (refer to indicator light behavior in troubleshooting), it's time to descale.
2. Fill the water reservoir with a descaling solution (e.g., white vinegar and water mixture, or a commercial descaling agent) according to the solution's instructions.
3. Place a large empty mug on the drip tray.
4. Initiate the self-cleaning cycle (refer to specific instructions in the full user manual, typically by holding the power button for a few seconds).
5. Once the cycle is complete, discard the solution.
6. Perform several rinse cycles with fresh water to remove any residual descaling solution.
