1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective operation of your DURFICST WM700D Moisture Meter. This device is designed for measuring moisture content in various building materials and wood, offering both pinless (relative) and pin-type (absolute) measurement modes. It also features ambient temperature and humidity measurement capabilities.

3. Product Features

4. Safety Information

• Do not attempt to measure metal objects with this device.
• When performing measurements, hold the lower half of the meter to prevent moisture from your hand from affecting the readings.
• Keep the device away from water and extreme temperatures.
• Do not disassemble or modify the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
• Ensure batteries are inserted correctly according to polarity markings.
• Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
2. Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert three AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

5.2. Attaching the Remote Pin Sensor (Optional)

If pin-type measurement is required, connect the remote pin sensor:

1. Locate the input jack on the side of the moisture meter.
2. Insert the plug of the remote pin sensor into the input jack until it clicks into place.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button () for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off.

6.2. Calibration (Pinless Mode)

The device performs an automatic calibration for pinless measurement upon startup. To manually calibrate:

1. Turn on the device by pressing the Power button.
2. Short press the MEAS button.
3. The display will show "CAL" and complete calibration within 3 seconds, then start measuring.

6.3. Pinless Measurement (Relative Value)

This mode measures the relative humidity of an object without penetrating its surface. It is suitable for detecting moisture behind walls or in delicate materials.

1. Ensure the remote pin sensor is disconnected.
2. Place the spherical probe directly onto the surface of the object to be measured.
3. The display will show the relative moisture reading (without a % sign).
4. The three-color bar will indicate the moisture level: Green (Dry), Yellow (Risk), Red (Wet).

The pinless measurement can detect moisture up to a depth of 20-40 mm.

6.4. Pin Measurement (Absolute Value)

This mode provides an absolute moisture content reading by inserting the pins into the material. It is ideal for wood and construction materials where direct contact is possible.

1. Connect the remote pin sensor to the device.
2. Press the Mode button (refer to image 3 for button location) to select between "Wall" or "Wood" measurement modes.
3. Carefully insert the stainless steel pins of the remote sensor into the surface of the material.
4. The display will show the absolute moisture reading (with a % sign).

6.5. Ambient Temperature and Humidity Measurement

The device continuously measures ambient temperature and humidity. These readings are displayed on the screen alongside moisture measurements.

• Temperature Range: -10~60℃ (14~140℉) with ±2.0℃/4℉ accuracy.
• Humidity Range: 0-100%RH (non-condensing environment) with ±5%RH accuracy.

6.6. Data Hold Function

Press the HOLD button () to freeze the current measurement on the display. Press it again to release the hold and resume live measurements.

6.7. Acoustic Alarm

The device features an audible alarm that activates when moisture levels exceed a set threshold. The alarm range can be manually adjusted via the SET button (refer to image 3 for button location).

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: Store the meter in its cloth bag in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
• Pin Sensor Care: Keep the pin sensor clean and free of debris. Replace bent or damaged pins if necessary.
