JFUDJKLI SVP716 Adjustable Overvoltage, Undervoltage, and Overcurrent Protection Device Manual

Model: SVP716 | Brand: JFUDJKLI

1. Introduction

The JFUDJKLI SVP716 series automatic over-voltage and under-voltage protectors are designed for single-phase electrical systems operating at 120V, 50/60Hz. This device provides essential protection for residential incoming lines or single-phase equipment distribution lines against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions.

Its primary function is to automatically disconnect the power supply when abnormal voltage or current is detected, safeguarding connected electrical equipment from potential damage. Once the circuit voltage and current return to normal operating parameters, the protector automatically restores power.

2. Key Features

  • Overvoltage Protection
  • Undervoltage Protection
  • Overcurrent Protection
  • Automatic Recovery
  • Real-time Voltage Display (upper LED)
  • Real-time Current Display (lower LED)
  • Adjustable Protection Values

3. Safety Information

WARNING: Installation and maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure power is disconnected before installation or any adjustments to prevent electric shock or equipment damage.

  • Always disconnect power before working with electrical circuits.
  • Verify voltage and current ratings match your application.
  • Ensure proper grounding where applicable.
  • Do not operate the device if it appears damaged.

4. Product Overview

JFUDJKLI SVP716 Adjustable Overvoltage, Undervoltage, and Overcurrent Protection Device

Figure 1: Front view of the JFUDJKLI SVP716 protection device.

This image displays the front panel of the SVP716 device. It features two digital LED displays: the upper red display shows voltage (e.g., "120"), and the lower green display shows current (e.g., "63.0"). To the left of the displays are indicator LEDs for overvoltage (>V), undervoltage (<V), and overcurrent (>A), along with a green "POWER" indicator. Below the displays are four control buttons: "SET" for configuration, two arrow buttons (up/down) for adjusting values, and a power button. The device is labeled "SVP-716" and "Adjustable Voltage Protector" with CE marking. Input terminals (IN) for Neutral (N) and Live (L) are visible at the top, and output terminals (OUT) for Neutral (N) and Live (L) are at the bottom.

4.1. Components and Indicators

  • IN Terminals (N, L): Power input connections.
  • OUT Terminals (N, L): Protected power output connections.
  • Upper LED Display: Shows real-time voltage (V).
  • Lower LED Display: Shows real-time current (A).
  • Indicator LEDs:
    • >V (Red): Illuminates when overvoltage condition is detected.
    • <V (Red): Illuminates when undervoltage condition is detected.
    • >A (Red): Illuminates when overcurrent condition is detected.
    • POWER (Green): Illuminates when the device is powered and operating normally.
  • SET Button: Enters and confirms parameter settings.
  • Up/Down Arrow Buttons: Adjusts parameter values during setup.
  • Power Button: Manual power control (on/off).

5. Setup and Installation

The SVP716 is designed for DIN rail installation. Ensure the mounting location is dry, well-ventilated, and free from excessive vibration or corrosive gases.

5.1. Mounting

  1. Locate a standard 35mm DIN rail within your electrical panel or enclosure.
  2. Align the device's DIN rail clip with the rail and press firmly until it clicks into place.

5.2. Wiring

This device is a 2-pole protector. Follow the wiring diagram below for correct connection. Always ensure power is OFF before wiring.

  • Connect the incoming Neutral (N) wire to the "IN N" terminal.
  • Connect the incoming Live (L) wire to the "IN L" terminal.
  • Connect the outgoing Neutral (N) wire to the "OUT N" terminal.
  • Connect the outgoing Live (L) wire to the "OUT L" terminal.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

(Note: A detailed wiring diagram is typically provided with the physical product. Refer to it for precise connection points.)

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

  • After proper installation and wiring, turn on the main power supply. The device will power on, and the green "POWER" indicator will illuminate.
  • The upper display will show the current voltage, and the lower display will show the current load current.
  • To manually turn off the protected output, press the Power button. Press it again to turn it back on.

6.2. Setting Protection Parameters

The SVP716 allows adjustment of overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent protection thresholds. The default current limiting protection is 40A or 63A depending on the model variant.

  1. Press the SET button to enter the parameter setting mode. The first adjustable parameter will begin to flash.
  2. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust the value of the flashing parameter.
  3. Press the SET button again to confirm the value and move to the next parameter.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all parameters you wish to adjust.
  5. After setting all desired parameters, press the SET button one last time to exit the setting mode. The device will save the new settings and return to normal operation.

(Note: Specific parameter ranges and their order in the setting menu are detailed in the full product manual. Refer to it for precise adjustment steps.)

6.3. Indicator Lights

  • Green POWER LED: Indicates normal operation.
  • Red >V LED: Indicates an overvoltage condition has been detected and protection is active.
  • Red <V LED: Indicates an undervoltage condition has been detected and protection is active.
  • Red >A LED: Indicates an overcurrent condition has been detected and protection is active.

7. Maintenance

The SVP716 device requires minimal maintenance. Regular checks can ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Connection Check: Annually, or as needed, verify that all wiring connections are secure and free from corrosion. Ensure power is off before checking connections.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within specified temperature and humidity ranges.

8. Troubleshooting

If the device is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.No input power; incorrect wiring.Check main power supply. Verify wiring connections (IN N, IN L).
Output power is off, and a red indicator LED is lit.Overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent condition detected.Identify the fault (e.g., high voltage, low voltage, excessive load). Rectify the issue. The device should automatically restore power once conditions normalize.
Device trips frequently.Protection thresholds set too low; unstable power supply; consistent overload.Review and adjust protection parameters (refer to Section 6.2). Consult an electrician to check power supply stability or connected load.
Display shows incorrect readings.Faulty sensor; internal malfunction.Contact customer support for assistance.
