Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present: the stainless steel body, the sensor lid, and the inner bag ring.
- Battery Installation: The sensor lid requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid. Open the compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and securely close the cover. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
- Lid Placement: Place the sensor lid securely onto the trash can body. Ensure it is properly aligned.
- Inserting a Trash Bag:
- Lift the sensor lid off the trash can body.
- Place a 50 Liter (13.2 Gallon) trash bag into the can.
- Drape the top edge of the trash bag over the rim of the can.
- Place the inner bag ring over the draped trash bag, tucking the bag's edges underneath the ring to secure it and hide any overhangs.
- Replace the sensor lid onto the trash can body.

Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off: Locate the power switch on the back of the sensor lid. Flip the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the motion sensor. Flip to 'OFF' to disable the sensor, which is useful during bag changes or cleaning.
- Motion Sensor Operation: Wave your hand approximately 6-10 inches above the sensor area on the lid. The lid will open automatically. Blue LED indicator lights will count down, indicating how long the lid will remain open. The lid will close softly once the countdown is complete or if no motion is detected for a few seconds.
- Manual Open/Close: For extended use, press the 'OPEN' button on the sensor panel. The lid will remain open until you press the 'CLOSE' button. This is ideal for tasks requiring continuous access to the trash can, such as cooking or cleaning.
- Whisper-Quiet Operation: The lid features a silent soft-open and close mechanism, ensuring minimal noise during operation.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Exterior: The brushed stainless steel finish is fingerprint-resistant. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can damage the finish.
- Cleaning the Sensor Lid: The sensor lid contains electronic components and is not waterproof. Do not submerge it in water or rinse it under a tap. Wipe it clean with a slightly damp cloth.
- Cleaning the Interior: If spills occur inside the can, remove the trash bag and wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The plastic base of the can includes drainage holes, allowing for thorough cleaning and air circulation if needed.
- Odor Filter (if applicable): This model may include an odor filter compartment. Replace the filter periodically to maintain freshness.

Troubleshooting
- Lid not opening/closing:
- Check if the power switch on the back of the lid is in the 'ON' position.
- Replace the batteries with fresh AA alkaline batteries.
- Ensure the sensor area is clean and unobstructed.
- Lid closing too quickly/slowly: The sensor is designed to close after a few seconds of inactivity. If you require the lid to stay open longer, use the manual 'OPEN' button.
- Unpleasant odors: Ensure the trash bag is properly sealed and changed regularly. If your model has an odor filter, replace it. Clean the interior of the can thoroughly.
