Various fresh fruits such as apples, oranges, grapefruit, and grapes are arranged around the base, illustrating the machine's purpose.
2. Important Safety Instructions
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:
- Read all instructions before operating the juicer.
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts, and before cleaning.
- Do not immerse the motor base in water or other liquids.
- Keep hands and utensils out of the feed chute during operation to prevent injury. Always use the food pusher provided.
- The juicer is equipped with a safety locking arm. Ensure the cover is firmly in place and the locking arm is secured before operating. The appliance will not operate if the locking arm is not correctly engaged.
- An overload protection system automatically shuts down the motor if the temperature exceeds 105 degrees Celsius (221 degrees Fahrenheit). Allow the unit to cool down before resuming operation.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
- This appliance is for household use only. Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

4. Setup and Assembly
Before first use, wash all removable parts (food pusher, transparent cover, filter basket, juice collector, pulp container, juice pitcher) in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Place the motor base on a dry, flat, and stable surface.
- Position the juice collector onto the motor base, ensuring it is seated correctly.
- Insert the stainless steel filter basket firmly into the juice collector. Ensure it clicks into place.

- Lift the safety locking arm and secure it into the grooves on the transparent cover. The juicer will not operate unless the locking arm is properly engaged.
- Place the pulp container under the pulp spout and the juice pitcher under the juice spout.

Figure 2: Installation and Spout Functionality. This image illustrates how to correctly install the juice spout by pushing it in. It also demonstrates the "Making Juice" position where the spout is rotated left to allow juice flow, and the "Anti-drip Function" position where the spout is rotated right to prevent dripping.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Preparing Fruits and Vegetables
- Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
- For larger items, cut them into pieces that fit comfortably into the 3-inch wide feed chute. The wide chute can accommodate whole apples or peeled oranges, reducing prep time.
- Remove hard pits from fruits like peaches, cherries, or plums.
- Remove thick, inedible peels from fruits such as oranges, pineapples, and melons.
5.2. Speed Settings
The NORTHCLAN GS-328L features two speed settings for optimal juicing performance:
- "I" Low Speed (13000-17000 RPM): Ideal for soft fruits and vegetables such as oranges, grapes, strawberries, and cucumbers.
- "II" High Speed (17000-21000 RPM): Suitable for harder produce like apples, carrots, celery, and ginger.
Select the appropriate speed using the control dial on the motor base to maximize juice yield and efficiency.

Figure 3: Two-Speed Modes. This image displays the control dial with settings "0", "I", and "II". It visually indicates that "I" (low speed) is for soft items like strawberries, cucumbers, and oranges, while "II" (fast speed) is for hard items such as carrots, celery, apples, and ginger.
5.3. Juicing Process
- Ensure the juicer is properly assembled and the safety locking arm is secured.
- Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Turn the control dial to the desired speed setting ("I" or "II").
- Gradually feed the prepared fruits and vegetables into the feed chute using the food pusher. Do not force the produce down; allow the juicer to process it at its own pace.
- Fresh juice will flow into the juice pitcher, and pulp will collect in the pulp container. The built-in foam filter in the juice pitcher helps to separate foam for a smoother juice.
- When finished juicing, turn the control dial to "0" (off) and unplug the appliance.
5.4. Anti-Drip Function
To prevent drips after juicing, rotate the juice spout to the right (as shown in Figure 2) to close the opening. Rotate it to the left to allow juice to flow.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your juicer.
- Always unplug the juicer before cleaning.
- Disassemble the juicer by reversing the assembly steps.
- Rinse all removable parts (food pusher, transparent cover, filter basket, juice collector, pulp container, juice pitcher) under running water immediately after use to prevent pulp from drying.
- Most removable parts are dishwasher safe. For manual cleaning, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive brush for the filter basket to remove any pulp residue.
- Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the juicer.

Figure 4: Juicer Filter and Blades. This image provides a detailed view of the stainless steel filter basket and its sharp blades, highlighting the design intended for high juice yield and minimal pulp residue. The image also shows examples of juice yield percentages for various fruits.
