Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to set up or use the tent. Keep it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
- Always ensure the tent is securely mounted to your vehicle's roof rack according to the instructions. Improper mounting can lead to accidents.
- Verify your vehicle's roof rack weight capacity before mounting the tent. The tent weighs approximately 25 lbs (11 kgs).
- Do not exceed the tent's occupant capacity of 2 persons.
- Avoid setting up the tent near open flames or heat sources.
- In strong winds or severe weather, consider relocating the tent to a more sheltered area or securing it with additional guy lines (not included).
- Ensure all zippers are fully closed during rain to prevent water ingress.
- Keep children and pets supervised around the tent, especially during setup and takedown.

4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Roof Rack Mounting
The REV Rack Tent is designed for easy setup on platform-style roof racks that are 84 inches x 48 inches (2134mm x 1220mm) or larger. This specific model includes a mounting kit compatible with Front Runner platform racks. For other popular roof rack brands, Rev Straps (not included with this specific model) may be required to secure the tent.
- Prepare the Tent: Unzip the tent's storage case to access the tent and its components.
- Position on Roof Rack: Carefully lift the tent onto your vehicle's roof rack. Due to its lightweight design (25 lbs / 11 kgs), one person can typically manage this. Position the tent centrally on the rack.
- Secure to Roof Rack: Use the provided mounting kit to securely attach the tent corners to the roof rack. Follow the specific instructions included with your mounting kit for the Front Runner platform. Ensure all fasteners are tightened to prevent movement during travel.
- Assemble Poles: Once the tent base is secured, assemble the 6 aluminum poles. These poles provide the structural support for the tent canopy.
- Erect the Tent: Unfold the tent fabric and insert the assembled poles into their designated sleeves and grommets. Extend the poles to create the tent's shape.
- Attach Rain Fly: Drape the rain fly over the tent and secure it at the designated attachment points. Ensure it is taut to allow for proper water runoff.

4.2. Ground Tent Setup
The REV Rack Tent can also be used as a ground tent. To set up on the ground:
- Choose Location: Select a flat, clear area free of sharp objects.
- Unpack: Remove the tent from its storage case.
- Assemble Poles: Assemble the 6 aluminum poles.
- Erect Tent: Lay the tent flat, insert poles into sleeves, and extend them to form the tent structure.
- Secure: Use tent stakes (not included) to secure the tent to the ground, especially in windy conditions.
- Attach Rain Fly: Drape and secure the rain fly.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Entry and Exit
The REV Rack Tent features 4 doors/windows, providing multiple entry and exit points and excellent ventilation. Each opening is equipped with zippered screens to keep insects out while allowing airflow.
5.2. Ventilation
Utilize the zippered screens on all 4 doors/windows for 360-degree ventilation. This helps to regulate temperature and minimize condensation inside the tent. For maximum airflow, open all screens when conditions allow.
5.3. Internal Features
- Built-in Mattress: The tent includes a 4-inch (11cm) thick foam mattress with a quilted topper for enhanced comfort.
- Storage Pockets: Four internal storage pockets are provided for organizing small personal items.
- Cable Port: A zippered cable port allows for solar panel connections or charging devices inside the tent.

6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
The tent and rain fly should be hand washed only. Use mild soap and water. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach, as these can damage the fabric's waterproof coating.
6.2. Drying and Storage
Always ensure the tent is completely dry before packing it into the zippered storage case. Packing a damp tent can lead to mildew and fabric degradation. Store the tent in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
6.3. Pole Care
Inspect aluminum poles for any bends or damage before and after each use. Clean any dirt or debris from the pole sections and ensure elastic cords are intact.
7. Troubleshooting
- Water Leakage: Ensure the rain fly is properly positioned and taut. Check for any tears or punctures in the fabric. Apply seam sealer if necessary.
- Condensation: Increase ventilation by opening windows and doors (screens closed) to allow airflow. Avoid cooking inside the tent.
- Difficulty Setting Up: Review the setup instructions carefully. Ensure poles are correctly assembled and inserted into their designated sleeves.
- Tent Not Stable: Verify that the mounting kit is securely fastened to the roof rack or that ground stakes are firmly in place.
