2. Safety Guidelines

To ensure the safe operation of your Neakasa M1 Lite, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Do not allow children to play with or operate the litter box.
  • Keep the litter box away from water or excessive moisture.
  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the cable is not damaged.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the unit yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • The unit is equipped with 5 pairs of infrared sensors and 4 weight sensors. These sensors accurately detect the activity of cats inside or even pressing the lower base. Any cat contact occurring during operation will lead to a pause to ensure the cat's safety. Do not obstruct these sensors.
  • Only use clumping cat litter with this device. Non-clumping litter may interfere with the cleaning mechanism.
  • Ensure the litter box is placed on a stable, level surface.

4. Setup

4.1 Placement

Place the Neakasa M1 Lite on a firm, level surface in a dry area. Ensure there is enough space around the unit for proper ventilation and access for cleaning. The required space is approximately 2.8 sq ft.

4.2 Initial Assembly

  1. Attach the four support legs to the base of the litter box.
  2. Insert the waste bag roll into the designated compartment.
  3. Plug the power adapter into the unit and then into a wall outlet.

4.3 Filling with Litter

Fill the litter compartment with clumping cat litter. The litter capacity is 7.17L. Ensure the litter level is between the MIN and MAX lines indicated inside the drum. Do not overfill.

4.4 App Connection

Download the Neakasa App from your device's app store (compatible with Android & iOS). Follow the in-app instructions to connect your M1 Lite litter box. The app allows you to monitor cat habits, track litter levels, and remotely control operation modes.

5. Operation

5.1 Automatic Cleaning

Once set up, the Neakasa M1 Lite will automatically detect when your cat uses the litter box and initiate a cleaning cycle after a preset delay. The drum will rotate to sift out clumps, depositing waste into the sealed waste bin below.

5.2 Manual Cleaning

You can initiate a cleaning cycle manually at any time using the control panel buttons on the unit or through the Neakasa App. This is useful for immediate cleaning or if you prefer to control the cleaning schedule.

5.3 Waste Disposal (Pull & Wrap Solution)

The M1 Lite features a unique pull-and-wrap waste solution for easy and hygienic disposal. When the waste bin is full (the app will notify you), simply pull the integrated waste bag to seal it, then lift and dispose of the bag. This design ensures no traces or unpleasant smells are left behind.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Emptying the Waste Bin

The 11.23L waste bin can hold waste for up to 14 days for a single cat. Empty the waste bin when the app notifies you or when it appears full. Follow the 'Pull & Wrap Waste Solution' steps described in Section 5.3.

6.2 Cleaning the Unit

Periodically clean the interior and exterior of the litter box. Use a damp cloth with mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

  • Interior Drum: The drum can be removed for thorough cleaning. Wash with water and mild soap, then dry completely before reinserting.
  • Sensors: Gently wipe the infrared and weight sensors with a soft, dry cloth to ensure they remain free of dust and debris.
