3. Setup
Assembly
Assembly is required for the Enders Hyde 6 SIKR Turbo gas barbecue. Refer to the separate detailed assembly guide provided with your product for step-by-step instructions. Ensure all screws, bolts, and connections are securely fastened before proceeding to gas connection.
Gas Connection
- Ensure the gas cylinder valve is closed.
- Connect the gas regulator to the gas cylinder valve. Tighten securely by hand, then use a wrench if necessary, but do not overtighten.
- Connect the other end of the gas hose to the barbecue's gas inlet. Ensure this connection is also tight.
- Perform a leak test: Open the gas cylinder valve. Apply a soapy water solution to all gas connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Close the gas valve, tighten the connection, and re-test. Do not use the barbecue if a leak is detected.

4. Operating Instructions
Ignition Procedure
- Ensure the barbecue hood is open.
- Open the gas cylinder valve.
- Push in and turn the control knob for the desired main burner to the 'High' position.
- Press and hold the electronic igniter button (if equipped) or use a long-stemmed lighter to ignite the burner.
- Once lit, release the control knob. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to 'Off', close the gas cylinder valve, wait 5 minutes, and repeat the ignition process.
- Repeat for additional burners as needed.
Burner Control and Cooking Zones
The Enders Hyde 6 SIKR Turbo offers versatile cooking with multiple burner types:
- Main Burners: Six continuously adjustable stainless steel burners (approx. 20 kW total) provide direct and indirect grilling capabilities. Adjust heat by turning the respective control knobs.
- Turbo Zones: Two 800°C Turbo Zones (approx. 4.0 kW each) with an infrared net are designed for intense searing. Activate these zones for rapid browning and crust formation on meats.
- Infrared Backburner: The 3.5 kW infrared backburner is ideal for rotisserie cooking, ensuring juicy and crispy results. It is continuously adjustable for precise heat control.
- Side Burner: A powerful 2.9 kW side burner allows for the preparation of sauces, side dishes, or boiling water while grilling on the main cooking surface.

Using the Switch Grid
The enameled cast iron Switch Grid provides flexibility for various cooking methods. The removable circular insert can be replaced with specialized accessories (sold separately) such as a pizza stone, wok, or searing grate, expanding your grilling possibilities.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your barbecue.
Cleaning
- Grill Grates: After each use, while the grates are still warm, use a stiff wire grill brush to remove food residue. For deeper cleaning, remove grates and wash with warm soapy water.
- Drip Tray/Grease Management: Regularly clean the drip tray and grease collection system to prevent grease build-up and potential flare-ups.
- Burners: Periodically inspect burner ports for blockages (e.g., from food debris or insects). Use a wire brush or a small wire to clear any obstructions.
- Exterior Surfaces: Wipe down exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish.
Storage
- When not in use, especially for extended periods, disconnect the gas cylinder.
- Store the barbecue in a dry, protected area, ideally covered with a weather-resistant barbecue cover.
Inspection
- Regularly inspect the gas hose for cuts, cracks, or excessive wear. Replace immediately if any damage is found.
- Check all gas connections for tightness periodically.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your gas barbecue.
Burner Not Lighting
- Check Gas Supply: Ensure the gas cylinder valve is fully open and the cylinder contains gas.
- Check Igniter: Listen for a clicking sound when pressing the igniter. If no click, check the igniter battery (if applicable) or connections.
- Clean Burner Ports: Blocked burner ports can prevent ignition. Clean them as described in the Maintenance section.
- Gas Flow Issue: If all burners fail to light, there might be an issue with the regulator or gas hose. Ensure the hose is not kinked.
Uneven Heating
- Clean Burners: Clogged burner ports can lead to uneven flame distribution.
- Check Heat Deflectors: Ensure heat deflectors or flame tamers are correctly positioned and clean.
Low Flame or Yellow Flame
- Low Gas: The gas cylinder may be running low.
- Regulator Issue: The regulator might be in bypass mode. Turn off all burners and the gas cylinder, wait a few minutes, then slowly open the gas cylinder valve fully before attempting to light a burner.
- Hose Kink: Check the gas hose for any kinks or obstructions.
