Powering On and Temperature Selection

  1. Plug the iron into a suitable mains socket. The digital LED touch screen will illuminate.
  2. Touch the digital display to select one of the 4 pre-set heat modes: Linen, Cotton, Wool, or Nylon. The selected mode will be highlighted.
  3. Allow the iron to heat up. The indicator light will turn off when the desired temperature is reached.

Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the steam control slider is set to the '0' (no steam) position. Select the appropriate temperature and iron as usual.

Steam Ironing

Steam ironing is effective for most fabrics, especially cotton and linen. Ensure the water tank is filled.

  1. Select the desired temperature setting (steam is generally recommended for higher temperatures like Cotton or Linen).
  2. Once the iron has reached temperature, adjust the steam control slider to the desired steam level.
  3. Begin ironing. The ceramic soleplate will glide smoothly over fabrics, releasing steam to remove creases.

Steam Boost Function

For stubborn creases, press the Steam Boost button to release an extra burst of steam. This function is most effective when the iron is at its highest temperature setting.

Water Spray Function

To dampen fabrics and aid in crease removal, press the Water Spray button. This is useful for dry ironing or for particularly difficult wrinkles.

Vertical Steaming

The iron can be used for vertical steaming to refresh hanging garments, curtains, or drapes.

  1. Hang the garment on a hanger.
  2. Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron is heated to a high temperature setting.
  3. Hold the iron vertically, a few centimeters away from the fabric, and press the Steam Boost button repeatedly.

Automatic Shut-off

For safety and energy saving, the iron features an automatic shut-off function. If left stationary on its soleplate for approximately 30 seconds, or on its heel rest for approximately 8 minutes, the heating element will switch off. To reactivate, simply move the iron.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Iron

  • Always unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the iron with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Clean the ceramic soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaner, if necessary. Avoid scratching the soleplate.

Self-Cleaning Function

To maintain optimal performance and prevent mineral build-up, use the self-cleaning function regularly (e.g., once a month).

  1. Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
  2. Plug in the iron and set the temperature to maximum. Set the steam control to '0'.
  3. Once the iron reaches maximum temperature, unplug it.
  4. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Press and hold the self-clean button (refer to product diagram for location). Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, flushing out impurities.
  5. Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
  6. Plug the iron back in and allow it to heat up to dry the soleplate.
  7. Unplug and let it cool before storing.

Anti-Calc and Anti-Drip Features

Your Beldray iron is equipped with an anti-calc system to reduce limescale build-up and an anti-drip system to prevent water leakage at low temperatures. These features help prolong the life of your iron and ensure consistent performance.

Storage

After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Wrap the power cord neatly around the heel rest or use the cord clip if provided. Store the iron upright on its heel rest in a dry, safe place.
