Bukumo 4.0 Cubic Home Safe Instruction Manual

Model: EH

1. Safety Information

Please read this manual carefully before operating your Bukumo Home Safe. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Placement: Ensure the safe is placed on a stable, level surface. For enhanced security, consider anchoring the safe to a wall or floor as described in the installation section.
  • Fire Resistance: The safe is constructed from alloy steel. While it offers robust protection, the primary fire resistance for documents is provided by the included fireproof bag. The safe itself is not rated as a certified fireproof safe for extended periods.
  • Water Resistance: The safe is designed to offer some protection against water ingress, but it is not fully submersible or guaranteed waterproof under all conditions. For critical documents, use the included fireproof bag.
  • Children: Keep keys and passcodes out of reach of children to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Emergency Access: Always store emergency keys and the external battery box in a secure location separate from the safe.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect for any damage. Retain all packaging materials until you are satisfied with the product.

3.2 Battery Installation

The electronic keypad requires 1.5V AA batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment, typically on the inside of the safe door or behind the keypad. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

3.3 Mounting the Safe

For enhanced security, it is recommended to anchor the safe to a solid surface such as a wall or floor. The safe features pre-drilled holes for this purpose.

  1. Step 1: Choose a suitable location. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes at the back or bottom of the safe onto the wall or floor.
  2. Step 2: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations using an appropriate drill bit for your wall/floor material.
  3. Step 3: Position the safe and align its holes with the drilled holes. Insert the anchor screws (provided) and tighten them securely.

4.1 Setting Your Personal Passcode

Follow the instructions below to set your personal passcode for the electronic lock:

  1. With the safe door open, press the internal reset button (usually a small red button located on the inside of the door).
  2. The keypad will beep, and an indicator light will illuminate, signaling it's ready for input.
  3. Enter your desired passcode (typically 3-8 digits) on the keypad.
  4. Press the '#' or 'OK' button to confirm. The light will flash, indicating successful programming.
  5. Test your new passcode with the door open before closing it.

4.2 Unlocking the Safe

Your Bukumo Home Safe offers three methods for unlocking:

  • Method 1: Personal Passcode + Knob
Enter your programmed personal passcode on the keypad, then press '#' or 'OK'. Within 5 seconds, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
  • Method 2: Emergency Key + Knob
Insert one of the emergency keys into the keyhole (usually concealed behind a cover on the keypad). Turn the key, then turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door. This method bypasses the electronic lock.
  • Method 3: External Battery Box + Passcode + Knob (Emergency Power)
If the internal batteries are depleted, connect the external battery box to the emergency power port on the keypad. Enter your personal passcode, then press '#' or 'OK'. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
