4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Initial Winding

As an automatic watch, it is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it requires initial manual winding:

  1. Ensure the crown is in its fully pushed-in position (Position 0).
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will build up enough power reserve to start the watch and allow the automatic winding mechanism to take over once worn.

4.2 Setting the Time and Date/Day

To set the time and date/day:

  1. Pull the crown out to Position 2 (the outermost position). The second hand will stop.
  2. Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the correct time is displayed. Ensure you pass 12 o'clock twice if setting for PM hours, as the date/day changes around midnight.
  3. Push the crown in to Position 1 (the middle position).
  4. Rotate the crown to adjust the date and day. Rotate in one direction for the date and the other for the day. Avoid adjusting the date/day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this is when the watch's internal mechanism is engaged in changing the date, and manual adjustment can cause damage.
  5. Once the date and day are set, pull the crown out to Position 2 again.
  6. Rotate the crown to set the exact time, ensuring the date/day changes at midnight and not noon.
  7. Once the time is set, push the crown back to Position 0 (fully pushed-in) to start the watch and ensure water resistance.

4.3 Adjusting the Bracelet

The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by removing or adding links to achieve a comfortable fit. A small adjustment tool is typically included with the watch for this purpose. If you are unsure, it is recommended to have a professional jeweler adjust the bracelet to prevent damage.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Automatic Winding

Your OLEVS watch features an automatic mechanical movement. This means it is powered by the natural motion of your wrist. When worn regularly (approximately 8-10 hours a day), the rotor inside the watch moves, winding the mainspring and maintaining the power reserve. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding as described in Section 4.1.

5.2 Water Resistance

The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). This rating indicates it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water, such as washing hands. It is not suitable for swimming, diving, or showering, especially with hot water, as temperature changes can compromise the seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

5.3 Luminous Function

The hands and certain hour markers on your OLEVS watch are treated with a luminous material. This material absorbs light during the day and emits a glow in dark conditions, allowing for time readability. The intensity and duration of the glow depend on the exposure to light.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

  • Wipe the watch case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For stainless steel parts, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the watch's finish or seals.

6.2 Water Resistance Care

To preserve the water resistance of your watch:

  • Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes (e.g., hot showers, saunas), which can cause seals to expand and contract, potentially compromising water resistance.
  • If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it gently with fresh water and dry thoroughly.

6.3 Storage

When not wearing your watch for extended periods, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. A watch box or pouch is ideal for protection.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Watch has stopped: As an automatic watch, it requires motion to wind. If it has stopped, manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times (crown in Position 0), then wear it regularly.
  • Time is inaccurate: Mechanical watches can have slight variations in accuracy. Ensure the watch is fully wound. If significant inaccuracy persists, it may require professional inspection.
  • Date/Day not changing: Check if the time is set correctly for AM/PM. The date/day changes around midnight. If the watch is set to PM during the day, the date/day will change at noon instead of midnight. Adjust the time by 12 hours if necessary. Avoid adjusting the date/day between 9 PM and 3 AM.
  • Condensation inside the watch: This indicates a potential breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to a professional for inspection and repair to prevent damage to the movement.
